Pretty mundane day today as usual. Keep on forgetting to go jogging (it was raining today though). Eh , if like this I am never ever gonna get fitter and bigger than daddy , then I can't wrestle with him and will be bullied :P Hmm, judging by the picture though I think I have an extremely long long way to go before winning a wretling match .. maybe if I sabotage his food ... Well , finally Book 11 of the Wheel Of Time is out ... waiting for the paperback version to come out. Hope I can survive the wait .... Hmm. must go back and work my way through books 1 to 10 first .... If you haven't read Robert Jordan's "The Wheel Of Time" series here is the lowdown. It's a 12 book epic-fantasy series. What sets this book apart from the rest is the authors penchant for extremely complex and interweaving storyline .. something that happened in Book 3 and didn't seen to be that important can suddenly become an important plot key in Book 7 ... scary. The story seems soooo complex that I am personally not sure if Robert Jordan can finish the story by book 12. Well, he promised to finish it by book 12 even if it has to be a 1 200 page book :P (his books averages around 550 - 700 pages each) so that is a relief. (If you wanna know more about the series : http://www.tor.com/jordan/) Can't wait to get my damn paws on the book ... drool ... drool . I wish Malaysia has more incentives that reduce the price of books. A survey that I read on the newspapers a few years back said that on average Malaysian's read 4 pages a month ! (not including text books and magazines). I have to say that it is high time that the government subsidise books, at least for students. Students should get a special card that allows them to buy books at cheap cheap prices (drool ... ) , that would be soooo cool ... and it'll save me a small fortune everytime I get buy story books. I generally get my story books second hand, I find PayLess Books to be very good for this but the problem with them is that all the nice books are normally snapped up. The people there are quite friendly, I sent an e-mail once to request some books and they actually found the books and offered to mail it to me .. (if by some weird chance the management of Payless books get to read this, thanks a lot !). Of course being the impatient animal that I am , I had earlier went to their stores and managed to find the books before they replied :P . Can't wait for this weekend .. wanna go to the newly opened shopping mall in Seremban ... heard there is a MPH bookstore there .. yummy . Take care ya' all ... -Dinesh |
