The latest developments
I feel pretty satisfied with my tank strike this weekend, it feels good to not run in and be the first to die while everyone else abandons you. I was thinking about why it is that people run, obviously gold is a factor, but just buy a chicken and then buy what you need immediately after you get the gold. Most importantly though, everyone (SP3!!!!) needs to play with tanks more ^_^

But all in all it was good fun. I finally got a replacement disc and finished Beowulf the game yesterday. I don't know why the game got such terrible ratings, I found it quite fun. Stepping on foes is the bestest move ever.

I finished the Devil may Cry anime and I was hoping it would work out ok but even I am forced to admit that it was complete crap. I mean he doesn't devil trigger even once. His super move in the final ultimate battle is he and boss charge towards each other and clash swords and then yaaaaaaar boss dies. Its lame don't bother wasting time watching it.

I'm religiously watching my bank account for my gratuity payment to come in. Hopefully it's enough to either buy a psp or a lcd tv. But now I have to do my taxes before the end of the month and its incredibly annoying, I mean the LHDN website is an abomination unto god. Worse still, the bloody tax rates are nowhere to be found. You'd think the most important bloody thing people would want to know is the percentage of tax they had to pay for their salary bracket, but noooooo its probably under OSA.

Viking for the Xbox 360 is shaping up to be an awesome game and my weekend plan as well. Need to go games shopping sometime this week. I can't think of any other big name games coming out anytime soon though.

Sadly I've resolved to go to the gym more, which means I'm going to be sacrificing valuable gaming time to keep my gym schedule, but its about time I got into working out seriously since I've been slack all this while. Plus as long as I don't miss out on dota I'm satisfied. Arvin will be coming back on 3rd June and is already trash talking me about how he's going to rip us a new one based on some practice sessions he's been having with Irish wasted on Guiness Stout.

Aite that's all for now

phantom limb
I have a test on Monday.
one of my first "research based" tests.
Being in malaysia for my first year we were spoon fed everything. coming here and dealing with loads of indipendent self study has been overwhelming. but im alive. and coping well.

We're supposed to read up and understand as much as we can about this phenomenon called the Phantom Limb.
you guys should really take a read its very interesting (im not sure if i'll be saying this after the test but for now, its interesting =P)

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/mind/notebook.html

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl2LwnaUA-k (the part on phantom limb starts about 10min into the presentation)

Its kinda scary how you're supposed to have all this knowledge to a new topic.. and go into an exam hall and deal with the questions, not knowing head or tail what the format is -.-

Anyhow im back to studying.
catch ya'll soon.

Planet X / nibiru
This is some interesting shitzz.........hmm..or at least i think so. anyway, i m going to share it with everyone.

i guess a lot of us heard about the the 10th planet or also known as planet X (apparently, X here can refer to roman numeric 10 and also, unknown) years back in the early of year 2k. but in actualy case, this planet was observed way back in the 80's and was actually conceived as the 9th planet in our solar system. while observing this chunk of mass, the astronomer found tht the mass was actually another mass, different from the planet X now and was named pluto. we can say that planet was observed earlier before pluto was.

the interesting part is, well, i may not be able to explain it well, but, i have a link here, i will give some sypnosis just to pigue ur interest.

http://www.xfacts.com/sumer_dvd.html

according to the speaker (some of the followings are his own opinions) and shown by the Sumerian murals and such, the Sumerians came upon to know the existence of Nibiru then. it was also recorded that Nibiru is actually the home of the living god, Anunaki (mayb wrong spelling). it is also found that the Sumerian knows of the Great Flood (Noah's ark).

Nibiru is a planet of 48 times of our Earth and will orbit into our solar system in an eclipse orbit every 3600 years. our earth was once a very big chunk of mass called Tiamat and 4.7 billion years ago, Nibiru swiped away half of our Tiamat creating our Earth now and our moon, leaving trails of asteroid belt between mars and jupiter. The so call collission put our solar system to it's current position as we see now. By calculating the distance between the mars and jupitar and as it's mapped, the distance seems to be able to let one planet to pass through.

according to the sumerian also, it seems that there are lives in Nibiru. and we are just the slaves created by them, to work for them. even the Great Flood was recorded earlier then the bible version and there are a lot of points which resembles the one in the Bible, recorded way earlier by the Sumerian.

if u have played Star Ocean 3 and just like the speaker's opinion, our planet might be in quarantine, hence no other lifeforms (if any) from other place can visit us. there might be nations that existed just like in Star Wars and we r just one of the under develop planet.

aiya, i m now in the lab, so i apologise if i made it unclear or with any grammar errors. i just type what is in my mind, no time editting. watch the seminar for full detail, even with the speculation of where is the other half of our earth if it was really halved by the Nibiru.

after u have watched it, does this sounds a bit like Scientology?

to find out the truth, it is speculated that Nibiru will pass through our Solar system and nearing Earth in year 2012. there are rumours of side effects like earth quakes and tsunami. our ancient decendents in Nibiru? what damage will it caused to us? btw, this planet may be seen as a red dot in the sky so do not be mistaken for some ufo (the statement in this last paragraph is not too reliable, i havent found any scientific proof yet, so some random read).

We will find out soon.........

Ending

For the last post I forgot to say what games I planning to play now. Currently I have Crysis which is a FPS game, Assassin's Creed as well. Make me wonder which one I should play first. Well Assassin's Creed graphic is nice but Crysis is not bad either. Guess I will decide it next week. By the way has anyone finish any of these 2 games?

Warning: might have spoiler??? (not really, just tell u which game and anime has unpleasant ending. That's all)

Back to title, recently I've been thinking. Some of the games I really like always end up in a sad way. Chinese games like Forbidden Divine really end up in a sad way. Some of Japanese games have the same issue as well. Still remember the night when I finish fatal frame 2, I can't really went to sleep, too sad. Although you can replay the game and get a good ending. But that's not the ending they use for fatal frame 3. Every time I see the girl in Fatal Frame 3 I feel sad. Right now I stop playing it for a while for a rest.

"Come human, there is much to be done". The end! What the..... Who ever play the game should know which game I talking about. Well it is not a sad ending. But I feel really sad because it is cliff hanging and they are not going to continue the game. It is such a great game and they just drop it. Why????

Well let's look at anime now. Figure 17 is still one of my favorite anime and the ending is also a sad ending. Grave of the Firefly, the legendary movie by Miyazaki is really really a sad movie. I went through the reviews and most the people (even guys) cry when watching the movie.

Mr Kitty inspires us
This is in response to Magnus'es post (http://cocobear80.blogspot.com/2008/03/need-advice-of-warlock.html)

Well, its a good question. Lets put it this way .. nature has intended that the strong will survive and the weak perish. For you to get powers like the cat so that you can drink from drains and garbage cans you need to eat and drink from drains and garbage ... if you survive, you'll get stronger .. If you don't survive .. well you tried and that has to count for something.

Short term wise, the cat probably has a well developed immune system fine tuned through hundreds of near death experiences with contaminated food and water. Long term wise, evolution plays an important role in determining the hardiness of a creature to a disease. It's a fact that most mongrels fare better against diseases compared to those pure breed animals which has lots of genetic diseases, weaknesses and such. These mongrels will then inherit their "toughness" to the next generation.

Its funny but the reason why we humans can't drink the same shit that cats do lies simply in the fact that we have gotten better at procuring better sources of water. Our caveman ancestors probably won't miss a beat if asked to gulp down a bottle of raw sewage water. If you're thinking that evolution can't make that much of a differece .. think again. The original "humans" (our genetic ancestors) were never omnivores, they ate vegetables only. Meat if ingested will not digest properly and will end up becoming toxic and might make them very ill. Through persistance and the strong desire to eat meat (yes Magnus, what you feel regarding meat is not a product of your own twisted mind, it's genetically inherited) we humans have acclimatised our bodies to process meat and tap into a rich warehouse of proteins (that is why we need meat). If memory serves me right, through evolution, the human body had developed approximately 35 different types of enzymes which is required to process meat and to get rid of the toxic byproducts of it .... this is a very complicated process and probably took thousands of years to reach the point where we are now. Our ability to eat meat is one of the main driving reasons that allowed us to climb up all the way to the top of the food chain, so effort wise .. it was well worth it.

Now for the question of wheater we can duplicate this "hardiness" into humans to allow them to become stronger. There are a few suggestions I can make and I'll outline them here :

1) Eat sewage . If you survive, repeat. You'll eventually get used to it and develop an immunity. The idea is to get sick so that you'll build an immunity

2) Probiotics such as Lactobacillus from Vitagen and yoghurt and stuff does help, it doesnt make you stronger par say but instead what happens is that you will have an extra bunch of "good" bacteria in your stomach that either directly kills "bad" bacterias, compete with food with the "bad" bacteria in your stomach so that they don't get too strong or helps your body to trigger antibodies without giving you any disease symptoms.

3) Genetically modify humans to tolerate contaminated food. Needless to say, our level of technology hasn't reached this point yet and we will have to do it the old classical way. Have lots of children and force them to eat garbage. The survivors have lots of kids of their own and make them eat garbage either ... kind of like animal breeding.

4) Take vaccines/medicines to give you a stronger immunity - this is easier said than done owing to the fact that when Mr Kitty downs a litre of longkang water the amount and variety of bacteria in it will be pretty impposible to count. We can probably develop some kind of vaccine for some of the major ones but not all. Remember, our body does protect us from a lot of different bacterium. We just don't notice it cause most of it gets destroyed before we show symptoms.

5) We can probably get Mr Kitty to down the polluted water and then extract the antibodies produced and then inject it into us to give us a temporary amount of protection. The success level of this is hard to predict as I have no idea how the immune system will work with kitty antibodies .. it might actually make you sick as the antibodies might attack your own system .. Kitty pwnage !

Crisis Core kicks ass ! It's sort of real time combat but it feels just right for a Final Fantasy game nothing like the atrocious XII. You only control 1 guy though , no party. I'll review it properly when i've played it a little bit more

Need the advice of a Warlock
Ok so here's to my first post in awhile...yes.

I was walking to the LRT station to go to work today and saw a stray cat drinking out of a puddle of water formed over a drain cover that everyone steps in on the way to/from the station and I started thinking.

Now for the most of us its pretty common to get food poisoning if we eat old food, or food that hasn't been hygenically prepared and such. Yet you don't see stray cats/dogs/rats vomiting profusely when they eat out of the trash.

Now obviously I don't plan to start eating garbage and drinking out of the drain, but why is it that these animals seem far stronger than we do? Or is it just a matter or perception, that maybe they have very short lifespans because they live like that and we just don't notice their deaths.

So I was hoping Warlock, being our resident bio-nerd, could better inform me. Why do animals seems to have stronger digestive tracts? Can we replicate that in ourselves by consuming certain items? (not garbage and such of course). At first I was thinking about good bacteria (lactobacilus?) but it can't nearly be that simple. This of course extends to things like tooth decay as well if you want to delve into that (e.g. we need to brush, floss etc. or our teeth will rot and fall out, yet other animals don't seem to have this problem aside from having teeth torn out in combat. Of course not sharks and animals that continuously regrow new teeth).

So remember, explain why this is the case, and what we can do to replicate this in a human being without vile experimentation using the T-Virus.

The interview
Went for a job interview at Wisma Genting today. I was lucky enough that this was one of the pleasant interviews without any of the gestapo crap that sometimes pop up. We chatted for a while then got down to the interview. Surprisingly, there were very few technical questions asked. I was screaming deep inside " ASK ME STUFF !! I STUDIED !! I MEMORISED STUFF !!" but alas not much in term of questions. They were more interested in what I did for my research in UKM. She asked me about my hobbies and I mentioned all except for DotA .. yeah I go home every weekend with the sole intention of meeting my parents and spending quality time with them :D. Nope , no siree . What is DotA again ?

I was never really stumped with any replies but I feel that my weakness was just my lack of working experience ... since there were so many applicants (damn!) it will only take a few with more working experience to make my chances null. Still it was kind of fun. One of the interviewer knows my supervisor/lecturer and a few other UKMites so I can chalk that up in my favour. Now to go see my boss and tell him to overtly praise me when they come checking up on me. he he .

Damn you magnus for not coming back this week .. There will be no DotA then. Its just not the same without you.

Composite post
Here are a few announcement thingys first :

1) Kavi, I am sorry I missed chatting with you yesterday. Something came up so I couldnt reply your "Hi". I'll try to catch up with you this weekend ok. Take care

2) DOTA will be on if we can get Kugan and Shaun to commit. As usual Kugan is incummunicado, will call him again, and Shaun is doing the "maybe yes, maybe not" dance. If things don't work out lets go eat and talk politics.

3) As for our plans to meet up on one of the Friday nite in Serdang for steamboat here are the suggestions :

a) We meet up on a Fri nite when Sai isn't going home for the weekends. We have
steamboat till midnite and get James to drive us back to Seremban. DOTA follows in
the morning.

b) We meet up on a Fri/Sat night when none of us are going back to Seremban we
steamboat till midnite and then we send Magnus back to KL.

Will let you know when we can be free for food fest galore :) Others are welcome to join too but need to figure out transport details first. I'll keep you guys updated. Maybe we can do this once every few months to catch up, can't rely on DOTA alone for socialising.

As for the Perak issue now, PKR is doing the dancing around and honestly I can't blame them. If they keep quiet they will be relegated to a minor post in the Perak state government. They really have to sit down and work things out THEN go and see the Sultan.

___________________________________________________________________

Playing Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSP .. terribly hard. Need to level and level and level .. grinding has never been so much of a chore before. Any advice on FFT , please comment.

___________________________________________________________________

Watched Dr. Seuss's "Horton Hears A Who", not something I would have chosen to watch but it was entertaining. Best watched with girls, never with action movie buffs.

___________________________________________________________________

Ok everyone take care. Gonna go and try to call Kugan again in a while. Sometimes I wish people will just reply my SMSes or call from a public payphone to confirm if they are coming for DOTA. The stress is going to kill me before too long.

Trouble Brewing In Perak
Just when you think Malaysia has transcended racially based politics and we can finally see better cooperation by the collective opposition parties in order for a fighting chance to topple the defunct monolith BN, we are given this crap ..

http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/4246/84/

I'll summarize ...

First DAP-PKR-PAS says "We will let the sultan decide on who to become the next Menteri Besar"

Then Sultan says "Kewl, finally some respect ! I choose thee Pikachu .. oh wait youre not in running. How about the PAS guy, I think he'll do ok"

Lim Kit Siang suddenly goes ape shit " WTF !! It's my way or the highway ! Give the post to DAP or PKR guys !!!! BOYCOTT !! BOYCOTT !!"

The blogosphere goes " Errr ... what happened to unity and working together ? If you dont get the MB post just ask for more exco seats in the state government lah. Whatever, you settle it amongst yourself la .. have some dignity and show solidarity. Lu hisap apa Lim ? Ganja tak baik untuk kesihatan."

Lim : " The ANGER !! Zeus come down and fight like a man ! I will .. CRUSH YOU ! " (proceeds to stomp on poor Pikachu spilling stuffing all over the floor)

PKR : " Whatever he's on , I want some too. "

Sultan : " Kewl "

___________________________________________________________________

Seriously, what is boycotting the swearing in of the MB post going to achieve ?
Cakap tak serupa bikin, YB Lim. Show us you and your party are above race and petty politicking .. show us you have what it takes to make a government. I'll be watching and someone bury the Pikachu .. i think it's dead.

Disclaimer : Satire not meant to offend. No Lim Kit Siangs or Pikachu's harmed in the making of this post.

No don't take my mansion awaaaaaaaaayyyyy ... Erk
Whoa .. Zakaria " I build mega mansions for the poor *snigger* " Mat Derus passed away. If you are wondering why this is news worthy .. well , the 61 year old guy was the former Penang municipal state assemblyman and was caught redhanded when he built a mega mansion/bungalow with a swimming pool and 2 hole golf set on government property (maybe even governmnent money but it can't be proven) without a licence. After being caught he claimed it was done for charity so he can have orphans come and stay with him for a few days every year.

Well, Zakaria died of a heart attack in "Istana Zakaria". Some would attribute this to an act of god and some to pure coincidence. Personally I think he got a heart attack when he realised that since Selangor is now controlled by what was previously the opposition political party, he can't get protection from the currupt officials of yesteryear .. the stress and mental anguish must have done him in. It's a shame actually, I would have liked to see him brought to justice and the proper punishment meted out so that others will fear to practice corruption openly as he did.

Well, lets keep our fingers crossed that Khir Toyol Toyo is brought to justice. Of course since the Selangor Municipal Council people from the previous state government just did their house keeping and destroyed "copies" of documents (Yeah right, and I am sure the original documents showcasing corruption will still be there) things looks slim.

Sammy said that "He will stay in MIC as long as there is a drop of blood in his veins" (Translated frm Tamil)

Anyone knows a good vampire ?

MIC was handed over their biggest defeat since its inception and he is still talking about staying in power. The gorrilla man lost in his own stronghold and he claims that the Indians "need" and "want" him.

Someone should shoot him ... Methaphorically speaking of course.
