My cousin Vinoth posted about the Serenity Prayer in his blog (http://www.vinaldo.blogspot.com). Since I am not really in a good state of mind (flu) I'll just write about the prayer ...
Well here is the prayer if you haven't heard of it before :
Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.
This prayer is often used in programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous and stuff. Some people find that the usage of the term 'accepting' is a bit callous (in the case of say .. murder or rape) but some people argue that 'accept' is defferent from 'condone'. Some people have made parodies of this prayer such as :

to kill today because they pissed me off.

of the toes I step on today,
