this is just so funny, i had to blog about it! today , i drove my mom's car quite a bit.. yea its an Auto but i just want to get used to the streering wheel control because i keep drifting to one side of the road when i drive.. plus i dont have my P license.. so mom was a bit worried but i was more excited about driving then i was worried about the police.. so yea, i drove my family to Lali's house.. and literally, the car was moving at less than 20 km/h.. i mean seriously.. it didnt even hit the 20km/h mark! my mom was a bit tensed i could sense..she kept saying "press the brake" the moment i took my legs off the brake.. we reached Lali's house after 10 minutes.. lol , a ride that usually takes 2 - 3 minutes took me 10 minutes plus a break of sweat because i was a little bit nervous. my mom's car is pretty wide and high , so im not used to estimating the distance and stuff.. then after reaching Lali's house we were chatting for a while and then decided to go out to get some condensed milk to mix coffee.. i insisted on driving.. with my brother in the passenger seat.. and the moment i got out of the parking position, he said "ok tekan minyak" and im like "no,this is my speed" *speed= 5 km/h... i wasnt even pressing the oil.. i was just releasing the brake* and at the back seat, Lali and my sister were laughing so much.. SO MUCH i tell you ..
i think at the speed i was moving, the slightest hill would have caused the car to go backward..LOL.. i think being a new driver im easily intimidated by on-coming / bypassing cars.. so i tend to go into "oh no what do i do" mode.. im hoping i get a hang of this very soon.. and then i have to start practising with a manual car to improve the clutch technique.. now when i do it the car vibrates like a chimpanzee on viagra.. warlock! any tips ? alrighty.. i need to go off to jamm now.. lali's waiting at the other end.. peace! |

Great Caesar's Ghost!!! Driving with parents is just too hara-kiri inspiring for me.
Its almost like they want to make the experience as trying as possible for the novice driver.
Just make sure to always press the clutch when you brake and when you switch gears. The different gears and the speeds they relate to is something you get used to in time. Try setting a speed per gear. 1st gear is only ever for moving from a standstill. If the car is already moving never go into 1st because you jerk. go to 3rd at about 30km, 4th at about 60. 5th is only ever for high speed like highways, you'll seldom use it driving around town.

OMG!! kavi u need serious driving lessons from sum1 who has experience. no i m not thinkin of warlock... like wat magnus sed only use 5th gear when ur on d highway.. in town areas d highest gear u can go is 4th.. tell u wat i got an idea.. y dun u ask ur dad to teach u driving.. ask him 2 accompany u when u go 4ur rounds... d way u describe it ur instructor is unreliable, in my opinion la... dun wori once u get d hang of it drivin will b a cinch... 1mo tip tho... DO NOT i repeat DO NOT give ppl rides when ur still not confident in ur drvin.. the pressure in tryin to make a good impression on d ppl ridin wif u only make d situation harder 4u
