I was writing about the government's unspoken policy against Chinese and Tamil schools. Even though I have never enrolled in either and I do find it extremely irritating that many Chinese educated people tend to speak to each other in Chinese even when there are non-Chinese speakers in the conversation group but that is actually a matter of choice and politeness. I still think that having Chinese and Tamil schools is a must as we must all be given a choice on the type of education we want.
"there were 310,000 students in 1,333 Chinese primary schools when the nation achieved Independence in 1957, but about 50 years ago, the enrolment in Chinese primary schools have more than doubled to 636,124. There should be a doubling of the number of Chinese primary schools. Instead, there was a decrease of 45 schools from 1,333 to 1,288 Chinese primary schools in the past 50 years".
MCA later decided that it should champion DAPs call and settled out things with Hishamuddin(the Education Minister). Resulting in a decision to build a whopping 2 Chinese schools in Malaysia ( yup, with schools having approximately 60 students packed into a class the government decided to rectify the problem by building 2 schools for the whole of Malaysia .. I and the 7 million (2004 poll) Chinese in Malaysia are shivering with joy over the generousness of the government). It is my personal opinion that this move is less "addressing the problem" than it is " toss a bone for the Chinese to keep them quiet". I find it shameful that such things can happen even with representatives of the Chinese community are in the Cabinet of Ministers. It's clear that they are either not doing their job or are not strong enough to do anything.

Yesterday Samy Vellu announced the Ninth Malaysia Plan allocation of RM32.12 million for 20 fully-aided Tamil primary schools and RM16.25 million for 18 partly-aided Tamil primary schools.
As Hishammuddin had announced RM64.84 million under the Ninth Malaysia Plan for fully-aided Tamil primary schools, what is the reason for the shortfall of RM36.72 million? Even if the RM16.25 million for the 18 partly-aided Tamil primary schools announced by Samy Vellu is taken into account, there is still a shortfall of RM20.47 million from the total for Tamil primary schools announced by the Education Minister in April this year.
While Samy Vellu should throw light on these questions, he has shown that one MIC Minister is more effective and influential than the four MCA Ministers – as up to now, no MCA Minister has been able to make public the full list of the Ninth Malaysia Plan projects for Chinese primary schools, whether for “school rebuilding” or the building of new Chinese primary schools.

Why is the original article gone? Isn't it archived on Lim Kit Siang's blog?
Well we all know that language aside the quality of Chinese schools in the field of education is so much better than the National Schools. Thus most chinese send their children to these schools, even some indians and malays.
Its for national unity they will say, keep us united by sending everyone to the same shithole schools with low standards and giggling kampung girls in ninja outfit to teach us biology.
Clearly we are unable to come up with our own system, can't we just fully copy one of the european or american styles of education and be done with it ah?
MCA sucks, MIC sucks as well. They exists to service the hairy jamaluddin balls of UMNO, one race per testes. Its great for ational unity as long as you like the taste of sweaty nads
