Had a long day today. With meetings, rushed experiments and some things I had to help my sister with. 2 more days left for those taking their SPM examination this year. Wishing you all the best of luck .. try not to screw up :P

| Wasted Efforts |
As most of you already know, the three guys on this blog are graduate students, (meaning that we are the worse kind of loafers that there are...). Due to the nature of our research methodology, we are granted a certain amount of freedom in our time management and we are expected to use our time constructively and responsibly. BLURRRTT!!! Yeah right.
If we were in America, we would be those nerds who smoke weed all day and play video games until we puke. As it is, we will settle for the playing games till puke part.
So, as a unfortunate byproduct of our nocturnal gaming activities, there is a tendency on our part to get up less than early. Let just say that breakfast often is really breakfast.
Of course, our thesis advisors still tend to think that we get up early at 6 or something and start working but we like to keep it that way. Sooooo.... what happens when the good doctor likes to have a meeting in the wee early hours of the day?
During days like this I wonder if drinking coffee everyday has made me immune to its caffeine or something.
And then there days when we get up wee early, get to work, and then find out your meeting has just been cancelled.... |

| Events Explained By The Philosophy Of Time Travel |
The book explains of the Primary Universe (real life) and a Tangent Universe (like a parallel universe). When the fourth dimension of time is broken, a Tangent Universe occurs, and is unstable. Hence the world ending in 28 days time. If the Tangent Universe ends, then the world ends, the Tangent Universe basically swallowing the world up in a black hole.
The Tangent Universe occurs when an Artifact passes into the Primary Universe. The Arifact (as explained in the book) is usually metal, and its whereabouts cannot be explained. The jet engine that crashes into Donnie's house is the artifact. Obviously the engine has come from the future, and triggers a Tangent Universe, which Donnie has to close to enable the world to return to normality.
Donnie is identified as the Living Receiver, as the person nearest to the vortex when the engine appeared. Its Donnies job to send the artifact back through time to close the Tangent Universe black hole. Apparently he has "special powers" - is this to do with his time-manipulation and visions, or just cos he's schizophrenic? It would also help explain how the axe got in the bronze statue.
Everyone around him become "The Manipulated" and are basically there to guide Donnie (as the Living Receiver) on a path to make sure he uses his powers to close the black hole. Karen (Drew Barrymore), Monotoff (Wyle) and Roberta Sparrow are manipulated living, Karen dropping some large clues for Donnie throughout. Frank is The Manipulated Dead, a premonition from the future used to give Donnie guidance. His job is to put Donnie into a position where he has no choice but to save the world. The Ensurance Trap is set when not only Gretchen is killed, but when Donnie realises his mother and sister will die in the plane crash, and when he kills Frank (revealed as Elizabeths boyfriend). If he sacrifices himself, everyone else will live. Gretchen is also a Manipulated Dead, though less obvious than Frank. She too dies within the Tangent, and is there to help Donnie.
In closing the rift, and being killed by the engine, the Manipulated all awake from the parallel time frame back at the start of the movie (or 1st Oct). The appearance of the engine will never be explained.

The Philosophy Of Time Travel
Chapter One: The Tangent Universe
The primary universe is fraught with great peril. War, plague, famine and natural disaster are common. Death comes to us all.
The Fourth Dimension of Time is a stable construct, though it is not impenetrable.
Incidents when the fabric of the fourth dimension becomes corrupted are incredibly rare.
If a Tangent Universe occurs, it will be highly unstable, sustaining itself for no longer than several weeks.
Eventually it will collapse upon itself, forming a black hole within the Primary Universe capable of destroying all existence.
Chapter Four: The Artifact And The Living
When a Tangent Universe occurs, those living nearest to the Vortex will find themselves at the epicenter of a dangerous new world.
Artifacts provide first sign that a Tangent Universe has occured.
If an Artifact occurs, the Living will retrieve it with great interest and curiosity. Artifacts are formed from metal, such as an Arrowhead from an ancient Mayan civilisation, or a Metal Sword from Medieval Europe.
Artifacts returned to the Primary Universe are often linked to religious Iconography, as their appearance on Earth seems to defy logical explanation.
Divine intervention is deemed the only logical conclusion for the appearance for the Artifact.
Chapter Six: The Living Receiver
The Living Receiver is chosen to guide the Artifact into position for its journey back to the Primary Universe.
No one knows how or why a Receiver will be chosen.
The Living Receiver is often blessed with a Fourth Dimensional Powers. These include increased strength, telekinesis, mind control, and the ability to conjure fire and water.
The Living Receiver is often tormented by terrifying dreams, visions and auditory hallucinations during his time within the Tangent Universe.
Those surrounding the Living Receiver, known as the Manipulated, will fear him and try to destroy him.
Chapter Seven: The Manipulated Living
The Manipulated Living are often the close friends and neighbours of the Living Receiver.
They are prone to irrational, bizarre, and often violent behaviour. This is the unfortunate result of their task, which is to assist the Living Receiver in returning the Artifact to the Primary Universe.
The Manipulated Living will do anything to save themselves from Oblivion.
The Manipulated Dead
The Manipulated Dead are more powerful than the Living Receiver. If a person dies within the Tangent Dimension, they are able to contact the Living Receiver through the Fourth Dimensional Construct.
The Fourth Dimensional Construct is made of Water.
The Manipulated Dead will manipulate the Living Receiver using the Fourth Dimensional Construct.
The Manipulated Dead will often set an Ensurance Trap for the Living Receiver to ensure that the Artifact is returned safely to the Primary Universe.
If the Ensurance Trap is succesful, the Living Receiver is left with no choice but to use his Fourth Dimensional Power to send the Artifact back in time into the Primary Universe before the Black Hole collapses upon itself.
Chapter Twelve: Dreams
When the Manipulated awaken from their Journey into the Tangent Universe, they are often haunted by the experience in their dreams.
Many of them will not remember.
Those who do remember the Journey are often overcome with profound remorse for the regretful actions buried within their Dreams, the only physical evidence buried within the Artifact itself; all that remains from the lost world.
Ancient myth tells us of the Mayan Warrior killed by an Arrowhead that had fallen from a cliff, where there was no Army, no enemy to be found.
We are told of the Medievel Knight mysteriously impaled by the sword he had not yet built.
We are told that these things occur for a reason. |

I'll keep you all guessing whose eye is it on top here .. he he. Very pretty but unfortunately not quite as soul-stealing as some person's I know. (I don't even pretend to understand what I just typed there ... getting sleeeeepyyyy .. )
The mushrooms failed to kill Siriuz but the hornets I sent as backup did a good job. Yup, that is right folks poor Siriuz got stung by a hornet. It was a giant hornet and it came for him with a vengeance. Poor Siriuz, he jumped and rolled. ( Reflex save : 1 + 3 = 4 vs DC 48 . Failure ) but alas he was not fast enough. Sting ! A cry went up into the air, one born of utter desperation and fury .. as the poison seeped into his veins Siriuz crawled into his car and drove back home. Little does he knows that soon the poison will spread and he will become ... a mushroom.
Long live the mushrooms !

Stop watching Naruto for quite a while. Like it not because the manga is quite good for my standard (recently quality down a bit but not much harm done) but also the manga is related to one of my favorate monster in Japan, The kyubi or nine tail fox. First time read about nine tail fox is not in Naruto but in one of the Chinese literature book. after that in Ushio and Tora then Naruto. Recently found some Japan legend metion about all the monster that related to nine tail fox so I will just try to translate and put it here. Have to mention the "tail" is just my translation to the related chinese word. So I don't know the actual meaning is like that or not.
One tail - 守鹤 Shuukaku. Something out Of Tanuki. In Naruto it is process (or being process?) by Gaara
Two tail - 猫又 Nekomata. See neko u know is a cat. Have the power of death.
Three tail - 矶抚 Isonade. a monter like a big fish with the face of shark. (should be Hoshigaki Kisame ?)
four tail - 鼠蛟 Sokou. monster out of combination of chicken and snake. Look like lizard.
five tail - 彭侯 Houkou. look like dog. Five tail process power of five elements.
six tail - 雷兽 Raijuu. look like Weasel. four legs and sharp claw.
seven tail - 貉 Kaku. look like Badger.
eight tail - 八俣大蛇 Hachimata. In japan legend it is as powerful as nine tail fox. have eight head and eight tail. In naruto Orochimaru process the power.
nine tail - 九尾狐 Kyuubi Kitsune. look like fox. everyone watch naruto should know it.
Again I would say I don't know how realiable this source can be. But read and gain knowledge is a good thing. |

Darn those mushrooms .. they failed. Not only did they not succeed in killing Siriuz they ended up nourishing him .... damn. Nevermind there are more where they came from , at the very least by feeding Siriuz the mushrooms help make him fatter , thus making it easier to catch him when he gets on the run someday .. ( oh yeah Kavi, I am sorry to say that James Blunt IS a mushroom .. look at the 'Terrorist Mushroom' picture below if you don't believe me )
Well someone suggested that I should put up some poems or stuff like that instead of writing up the usual crap that I always do .... I am , unfortunately, very bad at writing poems. We probably will have better luck if we can convince r6p to post some of her excellent poems here. Well to get the ball rolling here is one that I wrote. I know it is sappy and pathethic but her , it's ME we are talking about ...besides, there is only so much evilness that you can ooze until you need to balance it with sappy stuff ...

| Neverwinter nights and age of empire III |
It seems playing neverwinter nights become neverending strory. A lot of good module I have been downloaded and haven't test it out. Not to mention still got Age of Empire III and path of Neo to play. But kinda enjoy it. espesially playing multiplayer for NWN. Hehe!! Will not run out of games any time soon. Seeing this past few years I plays games like crazy and digest games even faster than my stormach digest food. This might be a good sign (maybe another 2 days to finish age of empire and another 3 days to finish path of Neo. :) just kidding!).
Tonight will go to scourge some more. Stargate is getting interesting. ah... Life is so good in study. just need money to survive (something that slowly kill human being and one day destroy the civilitation).

| Meet The Killer Mushrooms ... |
Hey guess what , I met with some of the killer mushrooms that Siriuz is always talking about. They seem like a pretty cool bunch of dudes (if you ignore the fact that they ate everyone on earth). They even allowed me to snap a picture of them .
Cute bunch huh ... they can be quite useful too. Last i saw them I gave them concise information on how to get into Siruz's room and I also gave them a copy of his room key.
If you'll excuse me , I have to set the camera to record the kill... erm , I mean the 'visitation' .. should be fun . Better wear ear-muffs or I might not get a good night's sleep .. Sleep tight and don't let the mushrooms bite.

| Ah, Sony the next Microsoft |
Apparent, Sony received some heat recently when they released some CDs which can only be played by its own player on a PC.
The real problem occured when some users discovered that in addition to the player, the CD also forces you to install some software which monitors your computer and insures that the CD can only be extracted three times. A major problem for Ipod users. The worse part is, the software itself appears to be a roofkit, a term used for a type of spyware that can worms itself into the registry and has the potential to totally wreck your system.
By the way, the software also sucks up resources, causing system performance to suffer, because it is constantly present, scanning what files you have and what music you play, and sending it home to Papa Sony.
In response to complaints over problems caused by the software, Sony released a uninstaller to remove the Roofkit. The uninstaller simply requires you to fill in response form and downloading some unverified codes into your PC.
Of course, the uninstaller doesn't really completely remove the software, it just removes enough to make it near undetectable, and less likely to cause system crashes. |

| Procrastination |
Procrastination. Never do today, what you can put off until tomorrow. Not good a way to live life but what can you do when the your brain matter just seems to frozen solid from ages of diuse.
I have wanted to post for something while, from my vacation, to my renewed addiction to DOTA, to finally welcoming our newest member, r6p(can I put your real name?). But I somehow just keep putting it off.
This is a dangerous habit, I tell you. Procrastination that is, not DOTA(not that DOTA doesn't have its own dangers, mind you...)
I remember once putting off finishing my thesis until the last month or so, and then going on sleepless nights after my ass was put on the grill. Man, was that a close one...
I suspect most of our government workers have the same problem too, I once received a letter confirming that my request to the PTPTN has been received will be put to consideration, six months after I handed it in...
I suspect it will be another six months before someone actually takes another look at it, and by then the request would have been as relevant as a THX in a silent movie.
Does anyone still remember that 'song' sunscreen with a male narrator voicing out advice from a junk mail?
There was a line, I think:
"Never wait until tomorrow to tell someone you love them."
Good advice I think.
Now that I have run out of crap to spew, I guess I will have to stop putting off trying to finish my paper... damn work. |

| Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire |
Went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire today. :)
I thought it was pretty good but you have to treat it as a movie and DON'T compare it too the book. There is quite a lot of parts being skipped, changed or glossed over but it is understandable given the amount of things that actually happened in the book. As it was the movie played for around 2 and a half hour so i guess they had time considerations to look at. All in all , I really enjoyed the movie and will definately watch it again ( and not just to see Emma Watson :P ).
I noticed that there are a lot of people that didn't like the movie but I guess they were probably expecting too much or aren't real fans ... I was just glad that someone took the effort to make one of my favourite books into a movie. Yes it was different from the book but put yourself in the director's shoes ( with the problems with financing and strict rules by the producers) and you probably won't be able to come up with something better anyway.
Coco bear is still hanging out near the gate waiting for someone ... sigh . I guess i have to explain that vj coming over was just a coincidence and it isn't gonna work for everyone that i name online .... sigh , dumb bear .

Sick the whole day , medicine just makes me sleepy .... no problem it just means i have to reload more often when i play games. :)
Did nothing in the lab, just went around and chatted with a bunch of people ( yeah, like i do serious work everyday anyway). Finally met my good friend Safarina who just came back from a looong holiday. I realize that you take people for granted when they are with you all the time it takes a leave of absence for you to really appreciate their company. Really missed her when she wasn't around. I realised that there was no one for me to talk to about serious things in the lab. Hey, Ina if you are reading this thanks for listening and being there for me.
I wonder how it will be like if i don't meet my housemates for a long time. Man , I wonder if i will actually miss them ....
Well, I miss all of you guys especially my evil clone VJ (he'll claim that I am the evil one but ignore him .. )

Sorry that I hadn't updated the blog for a few days .. had been pretty down and busy as well ... Well I managed to get a few hours of serious DOTAing during the weekend break. Caught up on some reading ... started and finished Memnoch The Devil by Anne Rice last Saturday. Now reading The Vampire Armand. I am slightly troubled with the entire gayness and homoeroticism rampant throughout the book ... It seems very wrong for a guy to kiss another guy. Not that i have anything against gay people, like I always say they can go for gay love anytime and with anyone as long as I am not the object of their affection .... I just get a bit uncomfortable when Anne Rice starts flooding her books with so much gay stuff. My poor cousins sat for the first SPM national examination today. Kavi , Pavi wish you both the best of luck ! Remember the golden rule in the Malaysian education sytem : Memorize and Vomit , don't use your brains to answer the questions. God forbid NEVER EVER give your own honest opinions ESPECIALLY in Moral Education. If the question asks you : " You are in love with a person but your parents have decided to foist you off to some bugger that you have never met before. What should you do ? " I know most of us will write about talking to your parents and discussing things with them but where are the moral values that can be associated with that ? No .. the CORRECT (snigger) answer is that as your parents they know what is best for you so you should MENGHORMATI ORANG TUA ( respect your elders) and marry the bugger .. nevermind if he picks his nose and wipes it on your dog's fur. After all we must listen to our parents and do what they say without question. Lets put this hypothetical situation : Imagine A's parents are greedy slobs who lie, cheat and swindle money like nobody's business .. they teach A that it is ok to cheat your friends , should he MENGHORMATI ORANG TUA and listen to their advice ? When do we draw the line on what to listen to and what not to ? That is where Moral Education is supposed to come in .... It's supposed to establish to us about what is right , wrong or acceptable , of course in Malaysia (in order to complement the entire stupid education system) we DONT do this .. NOOO , we are too busy teaching crap moral values that has to be memorised and plugged into the answers to allow them to get their points... a heartfelt essay that argues the pro's and con's of listening to your parents in both the question will get a 0 unless they happend to have certain " moral values " and their " key words " which MUST be there for points to be awarded ... SIGH Damn, I wonder which idiot came up with the stupid moral values marking system ..... Morals shouldn't be about memorizing values and writing stuff in direct connection to it. It should be about good things that comes from the heart .. Instead of teaching people what is good and what is not , teaching people about tolerance and understanding .. how to cope with rage , jealousy and how to think through to reach a morally and ethically to make a descision what they end up teaching is how to suger coat lies and write them down. " You find a RM 5 note on a bus stand . What would you do ? " The correct answer here would be to go and give the money to the authorities because of nilai ( plug in NILAI MORAL here) . Crap answer i tell you ... like somebody would report a RM 5 loss to the police station ! My answer would be to just drop the money into some donation box somewhere but there is no moral value there so my anwer will be wrong and I won't get any marks . I would probably write on about how logically speaking if we have to take a cab and go to the police station the cost incurred would probably be more than the value of the RM 5 itself ! Of course in Moral there shouldn't be a CORRECT answer . There shouldn't be a MARKING SCHEME which tells us which answers carries how many points . Instead they should consider each and every answer based on the merit of their argument and personal beliefs ... Today the government came up with an official statement that marriage between same sex members would not be condoned even if one of them had a sex change operation. I don't agree with the descision , I believe that if you are uncomfortable with your sex you should be allowed to change it and should be ostracised because of that ! What is so wrong with changing your sex ? So you are unhappy with your body , you are not comfortable or aroused by members of the opposite sex but you have sexual desires for the members of your own sex .. obviously there is something wrong here. The best thing to do is to have a sex change op and try to live out your life as close to normal as you can be right ? It doesn't harm anyone , so WHY is it WRONG ??? I am pretty sure no one changes sex just for the heck of it rite ? It's their body so let them make the desicion damn it ! Sigh ... sometimes I don't understand the reasons behind the policy that policy makers make ... It seems that most of them are politically or religiously motivated rarely for the good of the people ... Yeah I am raving allready .. sorry about that , must be the medicine . | Some update |
Well Well is me again and my update lesson. This time I will introduce a new movie and a few new game.
 1. Hotaru no Haka (Grave of the Firefly)
Make by Japan NTV to celebrate its 60th annivesary. Lots of people will familiar with the anime with the same name which produce by Ghibli Studio (my favorite anime studio). This one is the Live action and the lead actress is my favorite one "Matsushima Nanako". Yay!!! The story will be more or less same with the anime. So beware!!!
Now to games section. Which one should I go first?
2. The Matrix: Path of Neo
THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO will follow the story of the blockbuster motion picture trilogy THE MATRIX, THE MATRIX RELOADED and THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS and for the first time allow gamers to play as Neo and become The One. A game of blockbuster caliber, Shiny also worked closely with the Award winning talent behind the Matrix trilogy to ensure that every aspect in design, sound and special effects would be authentic to the original experience. Gamers will play as Neo, but from the moment the game begins, how the situations play out, how they handle them, how they deal with the events, where they go, how people react to them -- it's all up to the gamer. They may win where Neo failed or find another way to solve the problem - the path is now theirs to follow.
3. Half Life 2:Lost Coast
This is not an expansion of Half Life 2 but merely a new map for Valve to test out the power of the Source. It can be download from the web for the player who has ORIGINAL Half Life 2. This map using a technology call "High-Dynamic Range lighting, HDR" which require a high end pc to run it. Minimum requirement: Intel 2.6 GHz or AMD 2800+, 1GB of Ram, Radeon X800 or Nvidia 6800 and above (scary!!!)
4. UFO: Aftershock
After the alien invasion, the Council of Earth successfully fought the Reticulans and moreover discovered their secret plan: to cover the Earth with "Biomass", a network of alien organic tissue that, the Reticulans hoped, would become conscious and endowed with mense psychic powers. The Reticulans who invaded the Earth are not true representatives of their kind, they are a breakaway faction that burned the bridges and chose this backwater part of space to conduct its experiments. The Reticulans would construct a large satellite (several kilometres across) with a closed ecosystem and move the remnants of human population there. The experiment with the Biomass would go on on the surface. Then something went horribly wrong... |

On another note , I thought of a really cool pet to have ... a capybara . Man they are sooo sweet , I wish I had one :) . 
Capybaras are a type of rodent but unlike your usual tiny hamster of mouse these buggers can grow up to 105 and 135 cm in length, and weigh from 35 to 65 kg .. cool huh ... I can probably ride one of them to my faculty :P .. oh yeah, they are officially the LARGEST rodents ever on earth ! bwahahahah ... I want one :D

| James Blunt - Back To Bedlam |
Listening to James Blunt's "Back To Bedlam". Pretty nice collection of songs, my personal favourites are "You're Beautiful" , "High" and " "Billy". The guy has a really weird voice though and his style of singing in pretty unique ... borders on whining at some times. Reminds me a bit of Adam Levine (of Maroon 5).
Talking about Maroon 5 ( no I don't think they are lame ! I actually like their music ! :P ) I found this really funny site ( http://imnotthatadamlevine.org/ ) , It's about this really-really old decrepit looking walking fossil called Adam Levine(yeah , I'm being evil, blame the genes ... nothing personal pops ) who is mistaken for the Maroon 5 guy ...
Now i just need to wait until some big time aritist with my name gets popular ... maybe then FINALLY girls will end up calling me instead of the other way around :P ...
Damn, just realize that I am not listed in the phone book .. boo .. hoo .. hoo

Like the title says it , sorry for not posting for so long . Was busy celebrating Deepavali ... what with all the merrymaking, drinking, eating and playing DOTA I was just too busy to update the blog .. once again .. sorry .
Now that the celebrations are over and well behind me , as my eyes actually focus, the floor stops spinning and I don't wake up with a hangover it's time to write something interesting.

I think too much alcohol killed all 30 neurons in my brain .. I need to rest and recuperate and generate fresh noew neurons. So that is it for now .. :P
Thank you all who came over to my place to make the celebration merrier , even to those who finished up ALL my beautiful Absolute Vodka :( . It was a real blast ! Too bad the most importenest person didn't come over ( still crying over it .. but hey what are nice strong alcoholic beverages for )
Oh yeah , and don't worry . I make it a point not to drink beyond any celebrations so theoretically I shouldn't be keeling over drunk in any gutters (at least this week) .
