Ever since the release of the Da Vinci Code movie, many posts on this blog has been about the controversial truth behind the movie. Now its time I jumped into the fray like a rabid piranha (note: piranhas can’t actually get rabies due to incompatibility between host and virus) and spam my two cents about the issue at hand.
Why such interest? The author claims to have given the world a fictional, fact-based conspiracy theory alleging “scientific evidence that the New Testament is false testimony.” First point, keyword, “fiction”. Nuff said. Or is it? Ok, so its based on facts. So what! Most good fiction stories are at one point or another based on cold hard facts. Take X-men for example, lots of scientific facts and even more fictional theories, a mixture of both fact and fiction. No problems there. So what’s up? Why the big hoo haa? The answer is rather simple. IDIOTS! IDIOTS! IDIOTS! (note: the difference between moron, imbecile and idiot are as follows; he who has an intelligence level of a child not more than eight years in age is a moron, between 3 to 7 is an imbecile, less than 3 is an idiot) Any semi-conscious literature scholar could easily tell where the facts end and where the fiction begins. Unfortunately, most layman are to idiotic to understand much less separate fact from fiction. I bet these are the same people who thought the Matrix sucks cause the storyline makes no sense. Hello! Don’t blame others cause you too stupid to understand a good complex mind boggling storyline. Anyways, insults aside, lets look at why some people were shaken by the Da Vinci Code. The story claims that Jesus was not God but just a mortal man who had a child with Mary. The source of these allegations is a collection of ancient Gnostic gospels found at Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in 1945. The Secret Books of James Khoo and The Gospel of Thomas are just two of these documents that reflect the ancient philosophy of Gnosticism. Gnostic teachings are quite different from traditional Christian teachings. So why were Gnostic gospels excluded from the Bible? Early church leaders found consensus in determining whether ancient Christian documents were sacred by asking some basic questions: Was it written by an apostle of Christ or by someone who had direct contact with the apostles? Did the writings in question receive wide acceptance as being consistent with the teaching of Christ and the apostles? Did they bear the mark and effect of spiritual power and truth? None of the Gnostic gospels measure up to the New Testament standard of reliable documents. Instead of being consistent with the earliest and most reliable eyewitness accounts, and instead of resting on foundations of the Jewish Scriptures, the Gnostic gospels reflect a worldview that is foreign to both Old and New testaments. Why are so many taking the Da Vinci Code so seriously? Apart from being idiots I mean. Well, Dan Brown cleverly designed the story to look like an expose’ with a lengthy list of acknowledgements that leave the impression that the backbone of the Da Vinci Code seems credible. On closer look, however, the alleged factual basis does not stand up. Basically, he takes real historical facts that most people have heard about but not in depth and gently changes it a bit to suit the storyline. Hence the fiction part. As a result, a bestselling novel, lots of cash, and a crap load of confused Christians. “Sigh!” How weak thou art. Like lambs waiting for slaughter. Have thou no faith at all. Such a pity. Such a pity.

Well come on man, the do call themselves the lambs of god. Never did get the whole issue, even if it was true, why can't god become mortal, screw Mary Magdalene, have kids and kick the bucket, then rise again.
We all know this is not so much about god, but about dogma. Don't mess with the dogma, even if the ultimate message is the same, don't mess with the dogma. Actually, go see the movie "Dogma" its way cool.
Its like how "honour the sabbath day" becomes "go to church on sunday or you'll burn in hell heathen scum". Church may be a way to honour the day, but the church rule is entrenched dogma.

Sabbath is saturday? Hmm... so thats why both sunday and saturday is a holiday. Actually friday is kinda holly too. I feel it in my soul. Should really think about making it a holiday too. Cause you know, its... holly!
About x-men, I once read this book about the "scientific facts" behind the x-men abilities. Boy did the writer have a hard time trying to explain all their powers scientificly. That book had more quamtum physiscs in it than a Stephen Hawkins book. Uh... not like I ever read any of his books,... or any other books for that matter. Buuut, you get the idea. Hmm... gotta read more books.
