Aite .. I've been playing a submarine simulation game. Sounds sad, I know. The truth is , I was playing Disgaea 2 originally .. a totally kick ass game. Absolutely loved it until the curse of Atlus games plagued me. The game froze at one part and I couldn't do anything to progress it, at this point I am hoping that the problem was caused by a DVD defect and that it is unlike my problem with Disgaea 1 (same problem , couldn't finish the game)
Now, back to the sub simulation , Silent Hunter III. It started off boring as most of the time you just sit in your chair and issue commands to your commanding officers. I was about to quit playing and totally uninstall the game when I decided to try out a remake of a historical skirmish.
My sub was submerged at periscope depth and moving at 1/3 speed with engines rigged for silence. I raised the periscope and in the distance I saw the flotilla of doom. 3 destroyer class ships were escorting a few battleships. I know that I had to get the battleships ... it was a matter of pride. I slowly made my way towards the convoy and lined up my sub at a 90 degrees angle to the starbord side of the second battleship. With bated breath I awaited for a firing solution and when the moment was right I fired a salvo of torpedoes at the battleship.
Immediately the flotilla came to life. Pinging sounds started to be heard and a few loud rhytmic sound of the destroyers started to move towards me. With my decent 5.1 surround speakers I really enjoyed the experience of listening as the ominous sound started to get closer and closer.
Suddenly, I heard splashes in the water. Depth charges ! I quickly ordered my crew to dive the sub. Explosions after explosions rocked the sub as I manuevered behind one of the destroyers. Using the engine wake to disguise my sub's own accoustic signature I stalked the destroyer. Everything was going according to plan as I flooded my torpedo tubes to try to finish off the crippled battleship that I attacked earlier. I was about to press the fire button when I realise that it was quiet .. too quiet. The battleships had cut power to their engines and my sub was chugging along making enough noise for them to lock in on me .. as depth charges landed one after another my sub sank into the deep of the ocean.
I got hooked on the game.

Dear Slim Jim ,
Thank you for being our first troll. It is nice to see that even a site like this can attract troll. Was thinking of importing more trolls (clones of Salty Peanuts III) but they probably won't post anything anyway and just end up raping the Shout Out box. I was surprised by your fascination with chicks, but it is probably a Singaporean thing. Coming from a third world country we get pictures of chicks quite easily , I have posted one for your viewing pleasure below .. enjoy. No thanks neccessary.

Heh!!! Chicks!!! Get it? Get it?
You're submarine game sounds kinda crappy though man. Do they still have the Majin class in Disgaea 2? I love how they always just make that guttural japanese shogun grunt whenever they do anything.
I was kinda upset that Laharl doesn't seem to be the main character anymore. There's Etna (my fave demon babe) and some new dude. BUT I WANT LAHARL!!! I'm sure there's still tons of prinny jokes though.
Only thing I hated about Disgaea was that it took so damn bloody long to get through. I must have finished that game a dozen times, even killed Baal. I know that the minute I lay my hands on this DVD I will become a recluse.
Must keep self clean of Disgaea 2 until after I finish FF XII
