My Gaming History: Based on a true story
So I guess I might as well continue the gaming history write-ups.

I started gaming when I was 12 years old. My dad used to take us to this place called Wisma Punca Emas where we could pay RM3 to play Street Fighter 2 on the arcade machine for half an hour, or play Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis games. Back then Street Fighter 2 was all the rage and I became an excellent M.Bison/Vega user while all the other fags were play Ryu and Ken, always standing on one end of the stage hurling fireballs over and over again. No match for my psycho powers.

My cousins, brother and I used to spend copious amounts of time playing many arcade games when we went to Genting Highlands, Port Dickson and most other vacation spots, as well as at Sungai Ujong Club in Seremban.

Some of our favourites were;

Captain Commando
Superman
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Image Flight (one of the best top-down shooters I've played)
Golden Axe

we basically focused a lot on multi-player games since we played in a group.

About a year later my dad bought us our first console, the micro genius with all those Nintendo (NES) games. 8-bit was all the rage and we played titles like Super Mario. Super Mario 3 (The best fucking Mario every, believe it), Castlevania, That crappy Street Fighter fake produced locally, and of course Ninja Turtles. That was our favourite game for my brother and me because you actually fight Super Shredder at the end, coolness, we also managed to find an 8-bit version of image flight.

My and my brother wanted to get a 16-bit game (either the SNES or Megadrive) and my dad said he's get us one but kept postponing, so in a daring plan to blackmail him, we went out and used our saving to buy the first X-men game for the Sega Megadrive, and he caved in and bought us the console later. X-men drove us mad because you're trapped in the danger room and the game tells you to reset the computer at the second last level, it took us days to figure out that we literally had to reset our console to progress and fight Magneto.

We had some fantastic games on the old Megadrive; Golden Axe 1, 2, and 3; Bare Knuckle/Streets of Rage 1, 2, 3; Castlevania; StreetFighter 2 (yeah still that); Sonic the Hedgehog (liked Mario better); Ninja Turtles (always some good 2-player gaming there); Splatterhouse (still some of the grossest graphic imagery) and loads more. Back then the cartridges were so expensive that we had to rent most games from the store for the same cost of a DVD game today.

Around the same time we all got computers, back in the day when an okay PC had 4mB of RAM and an uber-PC had 8mB of RAM. My first PC game was a top-down shooter called Xenon 2. I just discovered that you can get a Windows version for free, just do a google search for 'Xenon 2' Pretty good stuff and still a fun game for the office with the sound disabled.

I moved on to really cool PC games like Doom 1 & 2. It was the only first person shooter that didn't make me want to hurl and pass out (I suffer from vertigo when playing first person shooters due to using more than 15% of my brain). I also played X-Wing one of my most loved space sims, because nothing beats flying an X-wing, all spacecraft get pwnd by X-wings. Gundams could beat X-Wings though.....

I also played an emulation of Street Fighter 2 which Igot from my now roomate Ram, who also gave me my first computer virus, setting up a lifelong battle between me and my older family members, as they blame everything on games now, the computer could get run over by a herd of stampeding elephants and they'd blame the game I installed yesterday for it.

Also, I played my first Role Playing Game (RPG) which was a hentai game supplied to all of us by Siriuz called Knights of Xentar/Dragon Knight. It was actually a really fun game with massive amounts of nude anime chicks.

I do wish I'd owned a SNES though, it had way better games than the Sega Megadrive. I compensate for that now by playing SNES games on my PC or mobile phone.

Later we started playing games like Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft, all games made by Blizzard and loads of fun. With that the PC became a strategy games platform for me. God how I hated playing Starcraft against Arc in the cybercafe, my beautiful fleet of Carriers!! Destroyed by those puny exploding zerg drones. That single gaming event cemented my lifelong rivalry with Arc in our escalating videogame war.

We moved on to Street Fighter Alpha/Zero and Marvel Superheroes (My favourite fighting games because I could use Magneto, my idol). I became obscenely good at those Capcom VS games and the only one that could really provide competition was Arc. Later We also had X-men vs Streetfighter in the arcade where I always used Magneto with Juggernaut/Sabretooth/M.Bison etc. You get my drift.

Some of us in the old highschool days (me, Arc, Siriuz) played Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara which was one of the few 4-player arcade games. We played that game to death, and its still fun, I have it on my PC now. We played the arcade game Aliens vs. Predator as well, I think that game was way more fun than anything I've seen in that series so far.

When I moved to KL to go to college my uncle had a way better computer and so me and my cousin started playing games like Quake (which gave me my first taste of vertigo), Total Annihilation, TA Kingdoms and the greatest strategy game ever made...DUNGEON KEEPER!!!!! God I loved that game, finally an outlet for my evil nature bwa ha ha!!!

During this time I bought myself a Playstation and played Final Fantasy VII which not only made me a Sephiroth fanboy, but it turned me on to japanese RPGs and I never looked back at the western RPGs after that. The playstation had so many games that I just can't even begin to list them, but basically my focus was the Resident Evil series, the Final Fantasy Series, and the since fucking best Castlevania, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and my favourite RPG ever, Vagrant Story.

I also owned a Sega Saturn along with the RAM cartridge that allowed me to paly X-men VS Streefighter at home. Good times. I play Dragon Quest too like adole, as well as the Shining Force 3 series (only the 1st of the 3 volumes was translated to english, I got the 2nd and 3rd in japanese and printed out the script off the internet).

During my first year of Law school, I had a 3 month holiday after the exams and I went to work for American Express and made a massive sum of money (it was like 1.5k for 2 weeks of work) and went out and bought a Playstation 2, which I'm still playing 6 years later. Great Games. Final Fantasy X, God of War, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, So many games, not enough time to type.

At the same time my aunt bought me a Sega Dreamcast as well, we played the Spawn arcade game a whole lot on that system, an excellent game with good graphis even by todays standards. Too bad the system just didn't have that many games.

After that my girlfriend bought me an Xbox while she was in the USA. She's my fiancee now and would be for this reason alone because you do not let a girl who buys you video games go. One of the best Xbox titles we played was Kingdom Under Fire and the X-men Legends series since we could play with 4 people as once. X-men Legend 2 was especially sweet because I could use Magneto in it. YAY!!! Kights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Ad much more.

Basically aside from the next generation consoles out now, I've owned every console game out the besides the atari and the nintendo consoles (unless the fake NES a.k.a. Micro Genius counts). I am a mad console gamer. I'm not too into PC gaming simply because of all the crap I have to deal with when gaming on the PC, conflicts, hardware compatibility, viruses, hanging etc. etc.

After I graduated and started working I decided to buy myself a real PC. you see one of the things I never had was a good PC, my family always bought shitty ones. So I suck in the cash and built one up and now I play DotA on it along with some other games like Dungeon Keeper 2, Disciples 2 and some other stuff, but mostly I just use it to watch porn. Well my PC is like the media centre in my home, everything from music to video gets run off that thing.

Now I'm playing: Digital Devil Saga 2 and God of War 2 (once I get my save file from Seremban anyway) Once I'm done with a few more games, I'll probably sell off my PS2, which should be in a few months, we already have a slim one in Seremban that works better. In June I'll be playing Resident Evil Remake and Zero on the Gamecube because my brother bought one in Ireland and will bring it back here then.

Once I'm settled in the USA and we can afford an HDTV I'll probably buy a PS3. Until then, it will probably be PC gaming for me there.

Growing up I faced a lot of prejudice from my family about gaming. I wasn't a complete screw up with school and managed to do a pretty good job with little to no effort on my part while my cousins were playing truant, smoking and sneaking out at night. My dad (the very same person who took us to play those games so long ago) was especially annoying, particularly when he'd ask me why I couldn't be more like my cousins. Fuck yeah. I keep reminding him about that today, now that I'm a corporate attorney and the rest of them still haven't graduated from college.

Still even to this day the old folks dis gaming as some kind of childish activity when it isn't. Gaming is no different from TV, in fact its better because you're actually doing something instead of passively watching.

Its a good thing I make my own money and don't have to give a fuck what they say anymore. I'm with Adole on this on, you take away my games and I take away your fucking life.

I will be a gamer for life and I hope that if I have kids that I'll be able to game with them too, unless they don't like gaming, then they should do whatever they want. BUT NO CHILD OF MINE WILL PLAY O2JAM!!! They can be homos, but just not that game.

Now I'm psyched. Must go home to game!!!!
Fuck my Nokia PC Suite won't connect since I got the latest version yesterady. Fuck Nokia.

Just so you know, Bison in the english version of SF2 was not the boxer dude, he was the final boss in the red outfit with metal shoulder plates that used psycho power.

Ah psycho power...the only power that's almost as cool as magnetic powers.

In the Japanese version he was called Vega. Vega is a much cooler name and that's the name I generally use. The names got changed because of legal issues involving the M. Bison, Mike Tyson (M. Tyson?) name for the boxer character.

Go see StreetFighter 2 the movie (animated) So fucing cool. Must get it again (I had the video which is now overgrown with fungus)

Oh yeah!!! I got the video that didn't censor Chun Li showering before she was attacked by Balrog.

I think that started me on my lifelong obsession with naked anime girls. Oh how I love them SF doujinshis.

Although....I've always been more of a fan of Mai Shiranui of the King of Fighters fame.

I love psycho power!!! yerui!!!!
