You know all the things that have been happening so far this year are slowly starting to convince me that our Prime Minister isn't the bumbling village man I thought he was. There's almost something sinister behind all this. Let's others play the bad guy and then he steps in as the voice of moderation. The way I see it, its one of two things that's lead to the current state of affairs regarding the actions that may be taken against bloggers (bordering on slander my perfectly shaped ass!!) and the concerns of the media abusing their "freedoms".
Possiblity number one is that this is just the ongoing policy of control and domination that we've been subjected to all these years, and that the truth is that despite all this pecker wagging by our jaguh kampungs is nothing more than "syok sendiri" just like the infamous son-in-law speaking for "all Malaysians". I'm pretty sure Condoleeza Rice has more grey matter in her poo than he does in his head *sigh* but I digress.
Possibility number two is a lot more disconcerting. That the government is afraid. But what are they afraid of? Just being found out. Caught stealing from the cookie jar? If that's the case they could always scapegoat someone in a show of "transparency" and taking action etc. etc. I think its something much worse. I think the situation here is a lot more serious than most people realise. That hatred and segregation is much more prevalent than we think it is. you know how Malaysians are, they don't care until something serious happens. It could be that the government is trying to stop the sparks that could ignite the whole tinder box, already overloaded with the gunpowder of religious zeal and racial superiority and preference.
It could just be me with my grandiose notions of playing Doombringer, but I've been having this feeling lately. Do you ever feel like something really bad is going to happen, that you don't quite know what it is but your gut tells you to watch out? We all know how easy it is to set off people here, and that once it reaches a certain level that it will flare out of control. The most recent actions of the police, showing preferences to certain demonstrators instead of blasting them with water cannons show us where their loyalties lie.
I'm just so tired of everything. All this race race bullshit. All the religion crap. Whatever happened to the good old days where people practiced their religions at home or in their places of worship and shut the hell up about it elsewhere? So fed up of the barbaric behaviour I see on a daily basis. The lack of education (yeah go ahead and say that our universities educate, go on, I dare you). Lack of jobs for the uneducated, and the subsequent blaming of everyone else under the sun for it. Do you realise that there's only so long the government can hold back the tide of rising oil prices. The difference being that in a real recession, we might not have to worry about being beaten to death by mobs of angry people, in another country..
Note to Warlock: Smart, slander is spoken, some speechwrite somewhere needs to be fired. Blogging would be libel, but you can't border on libel. What bull. Opinions wouldn't fall under this, neither would speculation. Plus you can't sue someone for spreading slander and libel about you if everyone already belives these things about you. Plus the onus is on you to PROVE that the slader/libel was untrue, I'd like to see the wonderful transparency happen there. You know what's going to happen, detention, without trial, for the sake of national security.
All in all, I really think we need to play more DotA.. |

Oh yeah, I forgot, the police can't detain or arrest someone for libel or slander. Its a civil offence, much like a personal injury suit.
