I know its been sometime since I’ve last blogged…bla..bla..the usual apologies…ok…that’s it…I know u guys get it rite?
Actually after reading a few post and also all the funny forwarded posts here I jus thought… I should share my experience being treated in HUKM just to get us all seriously thinking….Whats wrong wit our general hospitals?????
Last week, I was all fine sitting in the hall watching Nip/Tuck finale in the condo where I live with my frenz and all of a sudden I had lockjaw….and because I was so bloody scared and panicked I couldn’t breathe so I was also having hyperventilation….wow…. Great rite…so all my house mates also panicked and they called for an ambulance which came like around within 15 minutes of callin….i tot it wuz cool….but that’s maybe b’cuz the place im stayin is like only 10 minutes to HUKM…(hey why that x-tra 5minutes?)
Okay, so they came in the house made me breath through plastic bag….then all I remembered were waking up when they brought me into the hospital… I was still breathing heavily….and couldn’t talk…because of my lockjaw…and plus my whole body felt numb bcuz of hypervent….so the silly doctors were askin me whats ur name? wer ru from? Did u take any medication before this...Please talk…? All I did wuz cry…ya..i know sounds lame …but hey…wat wud u do…wen ur in a situation wer u cant utter a word and u cant even write and show them….But the best is yet to come…Im not sure if that lady wuz a trainee doc or nurse she asked me….”kamu reti cakap b.m tak’? I wuz like wtf…I can even close my mouth and u expect me to speak to u….damn u all…!!! And then they, started poking and piercing my arms…taking blood samples and then came a smart ass nurse who checked pressure in the same hand as the hand they took the blood sample…and I could see like blood clots around the place where they just took the blood…I wuz screaming at that point….she jus started pressing that place and applied pressure…thank god at least she knew wat to do…after that she jus took a bunch of gauze and sticked it to the place and walked of…..then came another one she took the other hand and poked it I dunt know wat they call it but that is what they used to inject medicine and drips…so after all the tranquilizers,….yes I know I wuz crying too loud so they had to give me mild tranquilizers….they also gave some pain killers and soon after that all I know wuz that my jaw wus okay…they could close and open back…I was ecstatic…but both my arms and all the places they had poked and pierced my body felt so painful…..so after like 5 hours of being in the emergency room… they let me go….but only thing that is left till today for me is the pain on both my arms causing vein damage according to another doctor of mine…So, im fine now…but never will I ever step foot into a general hospital ever….. the end.
Well,my brother tot that this would make an interesting topic to blog about…so there u go…happy…oh ya…and im the lockjaw monster if u still have trouble figuring it out…hehehe jus kidding…alrite…get to u guys soon…enjoy reading….bye. |

Certain doctors can really suck. Had my share of experiences as well. All you had was unnecessary pain. Imagine being treated for a disease and then sustaining more damage than the disease alone could have ever caused. HAH! Now thats agony.
I must admit though, the 'reti cakap BM' thing was the funniest. Bet you'd laugh your head off if you weren't in so much pain. Heh heh!
The tranquilizers might be to relax the muscles that caused the lockjaw, not because you were crying too loud, confusing the doctors, agonizing the other patients.....

So, what was the cause of the lockjaw? What's the diagnosis?

hehe...i actually knew it they did tell me before injecting but its kinda interesting to blog when u exagerate things like dat...but not all of it is exagerated...neway they dunt really know wat caused it but...they did say that the electrolites level was low but stable.besides that they also wanted to give a referal letter to a ENT specialist but i said its ok and that we get our own specialist doc. at a private hospital!!and ya ok i admit shame on me...shouldnt hv done the screaming and all but hey they tortured me der ok wat do u expect? neway thanks for being so concern.

yes i'd stick with world peace instead of trying to sort out malaysian hospitals. Never go anywhere managed by the government, they're more concerned with making the staff wear tudungs.
Hate hospitals, hate GHs ever more.
All that just for lockjaw though OMG!!! It hardly seems work going through that. Aren't you just supposed to cdhill and it unlocks in a few hours at most. I'm too bust surfing for porn to wiki it, but I will eventually.
The hospital people sure sound like idiots (except for the tranqs, ask them to pass some to Kavi), but why couldn't you just write to them. And can't you talk when you have lockjaw? I know you can't open your mouth but you should be able to move your throat and tongue to speak.

erm i dont ever go to government hospitals at all actually.. parents dont go either..
as much as we complain theres nothing much we can do to fix it. we're in malaysia afterall..
the country full of UNITY which preaches the FREEDOM OF SPEECH..and the whole nine yards of bullshit..

You can still speak without opening your mouth. Try clenching your teeth and speaking, if you can't move your lips you can't make certain sounds like 'P' sounds. Still haven't actually read up on lockjaw.
Were you really unable to speak or were you panicking?

hey..thanks kavi...im doing gud!! actually i dunt remember much goin to gh also...mayb, when i wuz stayin in kl last time (nearest to home)...but when u call ambulans they eventually bring u to the nearest gh...
actually navin when i tried to tell the nurse that it was too cold....'cud u get me blanket' thats when she asked ...ape kamu cakap? kamu reti cakap b.m. tak?
which made me go so mad...basically i wuz cryin the whole time more bcuz they were so pushy....they rush 4 nothin..but, later on another qualified doc. came in though and asked me everything calmly...i wuz able to say things...but my words were slurring like hell plus it really hurts to speak and even swallow when ur jaw is locked for almost an hour+...

Sigh, our public hospitals make me want to cry, every time I go to one I resolve to be healthier and make more money so I never have to get treated there.
