Patrick Teoh's Rantings
The price of electricity is going up in a couple of weeks. By an
AVERAGE of 12%! So please don't think that it is ONLY 12% okay? As
with every announcement of this nature it is accompanied by great
comedy in the newspapers and from the mouths of our elected
representatives although we have not yet been told to change our
lifestyle again. Not yet la.

Wait...wait...wait...actually got already.

The front page of The Sun today..."the more you use, the more you pay."

Translation: Change your lifestyle la.

Wait, there's more. On page 4 of the NST today the Energy, Water and
Communications Minister was quoted as saying, "….low-income consumers
won't be affected." Great news? Not really.

What is means is, "If you are quite happy to remain in that shit hole
you will not be affected by the new tariffs."

With so much comedy in the news today I had to buy all 3 English
language papers, The Sun, The Star and The New Straits Times today.
Didn't want to miss out.

The editor of The Star today ought to audition as a comedian I think.
The headline today read, "Watts Up!". Very punny. Hahahahaha...can die
laughing with the ceiling fan on la. I

It is reported in all the papers I bought that TNB's rates increase is
not going to affect about 60% of Malaysian households whose monthly
electricity bill is below RM43.60! Yippee!

But wait a minute...how is it not going to affect these people when
prices of everything else will go up too? Eventually.

The LRT runs on electricity, right? Food in markets and supermarkets
have to be kept fresh with refrigeration and that takes electricity,
right? Cinemas, which is one of the few forms of entertainment that
the same 60% of the population can enjoy on a day out with the family,
uses electricity, right? Are we going to be given an assurance that
prices of everything else, that Malaysians need to live with a quality
of life that is even slightly worthy of a country that we are
constantly told is better than Ghana, is not going to increase
proportionately? Yes, I know. In a few days time there will come the
usual warnings by this Yang Berhormat's and that Yang Berbahagia's to
traders and manufacturers that they should not increase prices
unreasonably so as not to burden the rakyat. Blah...blah...blah. Press
conferences will be organised. Heads will nod in agreement with the
YB's pronouncements. And then..."Errr...When do we announce the price
increase of our goods and services ah?"

TNB took out a double-paged advertorial in all 3 English language
newspapers today to explain the tariffs increase and to advise
consumers on methods to reduce consumption. Use low energy light bulbs
they say. Because they consume less electricity. Oh thank you for that
revelation. Do these guys even know how much those low energy bulbs
cost?

And this is my favorite of their 'suggestions'. Set air-conditioners
to between 25 and 26 degrees Celsius. Surely they are sticking their
tongues out at us when they say that. Have they ever sat or worked in
an enclosed room where the temperature is 26 degrees Celsius? Might as
well tell us to shut off the air-con and go sit next to a fire.

Oh yes. I don't know if this is tragic or side splittingly funny. TNB
is going to realise RM1.5 billion in revenue with this price hike. But
TNB plans to spend RM40 billion in the next 5 years to upgrade and
improve their electricity supply system. So where is the rest of the
billions going to come from? No prizes for making the right guess.
Maybe somebody (Pah Lah should do this since he seems to have the
ability to make so much sense out of totally senseless stuff around
here) should answer this question. Why and how did a company like TNB
who have been in operation for decades get itself into this shitty
situation? With its long history shouldn't it have developed and
improved enough to keep up with demand in the 21st century? Or was
somebody sleeping on the job?

Which reminds me…every time I have seen TNB people at work it happens
like this…one guy is sitting in the TNB truck smoking a cigarette. One
guy is up on a ladder doing something apparently useful. And 4 other
guys are standing at the foot of the ladder looking around. Small
thing? Sure it is. But maybe that contributes to why you and I are
paying more for power today. Bottom of ladder stand-abouts don't come
cheap I am told.

And then as if to make us even more pissed off YB Lim Keng Yaik then
says that TNB must improve its service. You mean their service has
been not up to mark? That might mean that we are paying for their
mistakes, right? So, why should we?

The YB also said that TNB must commit to a service level agreement
which, if it fails to live up to that, it will have to compensate
consumers in the form of rebates. Yeah right! That is SO un-Malaysian,
YB.

Okay, okay to be fair to Lim Keng Yaik and all the other YB's in the
government there must be some perfectly reasonable explanation for all
this mess. But as a poor working slob who is not too intelligently
savvy about economics, I feel that it is not being explained to me in
a way that I can understand. I'll be the first to admit that if I did
understand I would put my patriotic shoulder to pull my weight in the
same direction as everybody else. Otherwise I just feel I want to
string up those TNB flers on the nearest lamp post.

Okay, okay I digress from the funny stuff in today's papers. Turn to
page 6 of the NST today. There those TNB flers are teaching you "How
to POWER up your life and save ENERGY". Roughly translated it means
"since you're F**Ked we'd like to rub your nose in the shit a bit
more". They are saying …

"Use compact flourescent light bulbs"!!!!!!
"Replace porch lights with motion sensor lights or light sensor bulbs"!!!!!!
"LCD/plasma TV sets use less energy than older models"!!!!!!

So are they saying to us that there are ways of reducing our spending
on power? Sure. Except that we have to spend loads of money FIRST
before the savings begin. Otherwise you join the rest in the
shit-holes and save right from the start. Your choice. Hey! We're not
anything if we're not democratic.

Okay lah. After all that ranting I guess we should all be glad that
our electricity tariffs are the cheapest in the region except for
Indonesia. And F**K! we're having a way better life than those losers
in Ghana. So…….

RELEK AH, BRUDDER!

A fellow blogger called me this morning and requested that I
compliment the PR guys handling all these announcements of the
electricity tariff increase. Good job guys. Great timing. When the
World Cup starts in a couple of weeks nobody will remember or care too
much about TNB. And when the World Cup fever ends after a month all
Malaysians will go back to life in Bolehland which will still be
better than Ghana.

The Witch-King of Angmar

Today we are going to learn about the Witch-King of Angmar, Lord of the Nine and the most powerful servant of the Dark Lort Sauron in the fictional universe of The Lord of the Rings.

Such is the form I shall take when I torture, maim and kill the bus drivers of Malaysia and all their loved ones, in revenge of the Black Friday of 26th May 2006.

For those of you who are interested go to

http://www.tuckborough.net/witchking.html

I’m too lazy right now to actually type out an entire article on one of my favourite beings from Middle Earth. However I did find an interesting reference to the term Nazgûl on Wikipedia the online encyclopedia.

The term Nazgûl has been used to refer to IBM's cadre of lawyers, with whom it has been said that IBM can blacken the sky—particularly with reference to the SCO v. IBM lawsuit because they supposedly never sleep, are utterly ruthless, and are completely loyal servants to their master. In addition, it has been said that they are "probably really nice people. They would be nicer too if they had (say) blood or souls like normal people." This usage, which has been suggested to be traced back to the 1969–1982 IBM antitrust suit with the United States Department of Justice, appears to have originated in a comment on Slashdot:

"Not long ago, the Black Gate of Armonk swung open. The lights went out, my skin crawled, and dogs began to howl. I asked my neighbor what it was and he said, 'Those are the nazgul. Once they were human, now they are IBM's lawyers.'"

Sacred Feminine
As told in the Gospel of John:
She was with him to the end and beyond. As Jesus hangs in agony on the cross, his life ebbing, Mary Magdalene is there, beside his mother, Mary watching. The Passion has been tumultuous and frightening, and crucifixion is slow, but still she stays. Finally the hour comes. “It is finished.” Jesus says, and bows his head. His body is bound in linen, carried to a garden, buried in a tomb.
Before dawn on the day after the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene rises to anoint Christ’s body and makes her way to the grave. It is empty. The Lord is gone; She is confused, and terrified. She races back to tell the others, returning with them so that they can see for themselves. The other disciples come and go again, unsured of what to think.

Mary Magdalene stood silently with tears in the Gardens, confused over the disappearance of Jesus’ body.
Then comes a voice and question. “Woman, why are you weeping?” She hear from behind her. “Whom do you seek?” She turns and thinking she sees the gardener, answers, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid, and I will take him away.” Then in a recognizable voice, Jesus says, “Mary,” Crying, “Rabboni,” She leaps up in joy to embrace her teacher.
“Do not touch me,” Jesus says, distancing himself from her, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”
Her words to disciples are simple and few, yet they transformed the world: “I have seen the Lord.”

***

With this begins the history of Christianity and ends the New Testament history of Mary Magdalene. Peter and Paul form the new church, Stephen dies a martyr’s death, John the Divine envisions the End Times. But Mary Magdalene, a critical figure in his earthly circle is neither seen nor heard from again.

Throughout the old texts, women in the bible are often named in relation to the men around them. Mary, however was named for her hometown Magdala. This seems to imply that Mary Magdalene was something very unusual for her time: single and independent. The Gospel of Mary, part of the ‘Gnostic Gospel’ describes depicts Mary as a leader of Jesus’ followers in the days after his resurrection.

So, does this mean that Dan Brown was right and the Church has hid the fact that Mary Magdalene was the wife of Jesus? Not quite.

Throughout history, the story of Jesus and Mary has been the stuff of literature and legend, politics and theology, controversy and conflict. Mary had always been an inconvenient woman. Although the Gospel can’t avoid her- mentioning her 13 times in the New Testament- they offer few details of her life.

In 591, Pope Gregory the Great, in need of a model of penance, claimed that Mary had worked as a prostitute: “She had coveted with earthly eyes, but now through penitence these are consumed with tears...she turned the mass of her crimes to virtues.”

This was later, overturned by the Pope in 1969.

The “Da Vinci Code” especially misses the point about Mary when it makes its case that she was the bride of Christ. Dan Brown used as evidence a gap-filled passage from the Gospel of Philip, that reads: “And the companion of the [gap] Mary Magdalene. [gap] her more than [gap] the disciples [gap] kiss her [gap] on her [gap].”

Those gaps leave many questions. But even if we filled the gaps as Dan Brown did:
Jesus loved Mary more than the male apostles and kissed her on her mouth, the passage is less sensational than we might think. In Gnostic tradition, kisses on lips are not erotic but a chaste act meant to symbolize the passage of knowledge and truth. Elsewhere in the Gospel of Philip, Jesus also kisses his male disciples on the mouth. This passage is certainly significant, for it could imply that Mary had special authority in his church.

Brown’s mistake is understandable. Sex sells. Mary remains a prisoner, a mistaken creature of sex. Mary was chosen to lead the church because she was the mother of his child.

The truth of course, may be something more subversive. The intellectual and spiritual equality of the sexes.

X-Men : The Last Stand

X-Men : The Last Stand is a bloody wonderful movie!!! Sure them jaded critics will probably condemn it with glee, but then most of us regular folk don't share the critics' taste in films do we. Although Angel had no real role.

There was so much cool stuff and I want to elaborate further, but I wouldn't want to spoil it for the rest of you mere mortals who haven't seen it yet. I laughed, I cheered, I cried, I touched myself when no one was looking. It's no Lord of the Rings, but then what could ever be that good right.

Go see the movie, you will not regret it.

Sidenote: If I could ask for a moment of silence to mourn the passing of my XboX, stuck down in the prime of his life by a rogue lightning bolt. May he rest in peace, once my powers are strong enough I will attempt resurrection. Until then, I must live in darkness *crawls into corner and whimpers*

Magnus'es post on Voltron brought me back to the olden days. Remember the old cartoon Dungeons & Dragons ? I was curious about how it ended so I went online and started searching and voila .. I found out that though the last episode was never aired , a script was written. Here it is for those who have wondered for so long .. will the kids ever return home ? Is Dungeon Master gay ? What about Venger , is he gay ? Go find out .

DaVince , Over the Hedge

Watched the DaVince Code and Over The Hedge. Both were very good.

I especially enjoyed the DaVinci Code , especially how they followed the book closely. Most of the story was unchanged and only small not-so important parts were omitted. For once Tom Hanks didn't seem to be the best actor in his own movie, I felt that Ian McKellen's portrayal of Teabing was exteremy good acting. They should hire more Shakespearean actors to act in movies , they tend to give the movies a certain 'flavour'. One funny thing that I noticed, the Vitruvian Man used in the posters were censored :P , guess we Malaysian don't really apprecitate nude art.

Over The Hedge was good. I felt that it was better than Madagascar but it couldn't contend with Shrek or Shrek 2 (but to be fair , what could ? )

Having a touch of flu , so I'll stop here and go to sleep ..

DOTA tommorow night .. !!! Yippeee

Voltron : Defender of the Universe

From days of long ago,
From uncharted regions of the universe,
Comes a legend,
The legend of Voltron,
A mighty robot,
Loved by good,
Feared by evil....

I was feeling nostalgic today after filling my belly with chilli chicken, so I decided to slither through Wikipedia in order to feel young again. Voltron just popped into my mind, so I keyed it in and voila. Made me remember the good old days when I had to get of so many distinctions in my exams just so my mom would buy me the Black Lion. We had the entire set of 5 lions spread out amongst my cousins so that Voltron could only be formed once or twice a year.

It was Deepavali 1988, the evil Old Whiner empire had commenced its attack on the youth of planet Grandma's House. Constantly bombarded with blasts from the You Kids Don't Appreciate Anything Cannons and fired upon by When We Were Young Fighters, 5 young kids did battle agains this horrible scourge.

Reaching deep into their backpacks, they drew forth their Lions and engaged in the desperate defense of their people. Mighty though the Lions were, the Old Whiner empire unleashed its ultimate weapon. The Political Conversation Star!! The most devastating weapon in the empire's arsenal, firing concentrated beams of complete and utter bullshit about the government, Mahathir, Lim Kit Siang, Karpal Singh, and other horrendous topics; it would annihilate them.

Sinking to the depths of despair, the 5 young kids almost gave up hope. Suddenly, the burning desire to stand up to this tyranny flowed through them. They had to fight back. Someone screamed "Let's go Voltron Force". They formed feet and legs. They formed arms and torso. And I formed the head (see Black Lion was the coolest). A massive battle of celestial proportions took place.

With a blinding flash of light, the 5 kids found themselves in a room with a T.V. with some vague memory of being told to sit down and shut up. And so the battle continues....

See this is what happens when I get bored. I ramble. Oh my!!! 1 and a half hours till check out time, then its Coffee Bean until X-Men at 7:15!!!

Request for information
Hey do any of you know how to track down decent martial arts instructors in Kuala Lumpur? None of that sissy, let's all stand together and punch left, punch right, then sit for exams and get coloured belts to show the world we are worth something crap. Just good old instructors that I can pay to teach me the finer art of kicking the snot out of another person.

I've become very lethargic lately, and lifting weights at home isn't helping with that, so I was thingking of doing something a bit more strenuous. I know there's Samurai classes somewhere in K.L. as well, just not exactly where.

So while it wounds my pride to ask for assistance, if any of you know any websites I could go to or are familiar with any schools, do post the info as a comment to this post and I will check back once in awhile.

Sidenote to Warlock: You know man, I've actually started contemplating giving up video games altogether. Shocking I know, but its like when I get back from work and fire up the PS2 to play some games, next thing I know its already bedtime. Weekends are either spent playing DotA with you guys or going out in K.L. both of which are prefereable to sitting at home playing video games. Plus I gotta work out and do any number of a million things on weekdays. I miss highschool, those days when my only onerous chore was listening to my dad telling me to study.

Still, it is the sign of the apocalypse that I hardly play video games now. I've figured out a compromise though, I'm going to cheat. Once I finish a game I'm going to avoid those endless hours of grinding just to finish the sidequests and super bosses (apparently it doesn't impress my fiancee that I defeated all the Dark Aeons) by using gameshark codes. Find me Kingdom Hearts 2 codes for Gameshark 2 Ver 4.0 on Gamefaqs. Puhleeeze!!! I can't access the site at work. Crappy I know. email them to me at my yahoo address or put them in a comment to this post. Thanks!

When is Arc coming onboard to post on the blog? It's not like he has so much else to do in Seremban when we're not in town right. Post damn you post.

I'm going to see "X-Men 3" tomorrow evening after work!!! Booked the tickets and everything, hope it doesn't suck big time, and that Magneto kicks butt. I will focus all my energy into ignoring the fact that its Ian McKellen playing my hero/villain.

See you guys on Friday!

ONE LAST SHOT AT GLORY!!!
this is it. the moment of truth. at 1 o'clock 2moro, my semester exams will come to an end. wheter it will b a happy ending or otherwise it remains to b seen. Mathematics for computing..... y do we have tis subject nobody noes. basically MC is just the maths dat u haf oredi learned in school. form 5 n 6 n beyond. either way maths haf alwaiz been my weakest subject. if a game like DOTA revolves around numbers, the next time sum1 ask me to go DOTA i will blankly n swiftly say "NO!!!"(thank God it iznt). so after the exams its home sweet home for me and... oh yeah, got DOTA on friday... i betta warn u guys, Shaun after exams play DOTA he will be virtual untouchable!!! because if he gets pissed over the exams he will let it all out on DOTA!!! so its a win-win situation for me. if i screwed up d exams i will play like a god in DOTA(Godlike.. pun intended) but if i do well, i will still play Godlike style. so guys cu on friday n make sure u all pray hard b4 facing me. SmokeyDesperado, out!

P/S:Siriuz, howz ur head after reading this post? must be worse than b4 rite, thinking hard on how to counter my exams-aftermath-style-of-playing-DOTA?dun wori i will go ez on u since u didnt make any comments about me.. but its a diffren story altogether for gopi, warlock, n magnus.

Online Gaming
There are a few online web-based games which are quite interesting if you are into them.
When I say online WEB-BASED game, don't expect 3D graphics and fast paced gameplay. Normally these games tend to be static-graphics and text based. I know , it sounds sucky right ? Surprisingly I found that these games can be very addictive (until you get bullied by a bunch of people T_T ). Both games below are fantasy-strategy game that utilizes a movement point based system. It's a bit hard to explain, go and play it and you'll get it ...

Here , go give them a try :

http://thefivepillars.org/

http://www.the-reincarnation.com/

Of course if you must play a MMORPG with the latest 3D graphics but you just don't want to fork out the money there is a solution for you ... if you are willing to download around 500 MB of installation data . Enter : SilkRoad Online. (http://www.silkroadonline.net/) . It is free with no restrictions so go crazy .. I played it a while but as usual I couldn't stomach too much of MMORPG games , so I stopped playing. :p

Yup , these are actual in-game graphics , not cutscenes. Stop drooling Magnus, you'll spoil your keyboard .. (and yeah, the glowing red guy with horns is a player character .. the one getting hit is a computer controlled creep .. )

Dissection of the Da Vinci Code
Well, went to see the movie this week and was pleasantly surprised that it did not suck. It was actually quite a good mystery movie. I can understand why the Catholic Church fears it so, the blending of fact (though these "facts" are debatable) and fiction can be very convincing. Given the current climate of suspicion, and there is one, of the church covering up its indescretions (consider padeophile priests for a second), the church is right to fear this movie. Blah blah blah!!!

Although it wouldn't have been as exciting if you'd already read the book. This type of movie relies heavily on twists and turns, knowing the ending really spoils the fun. I do want to read Dan Brown's books now though, seems like they might actually be of interest. Plus I need to get out of the fantasy world of Krynn for awhile.

Okay, enough of the drama. It was a decent show and people should stop wasting time getting excited about it, they should be getting excited about "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "Superman" oh I can barely wait. Going to watch "X-Men" this thurday!!! Yahoo!!! Hope I'll be able to get enough people to go see it...

I'm waiting with anticipation for this Friday, its been too long since I've played against you Seremban people. I will practice everyday so that I will be prepared. I take it by the posts thus far that some major havoc occurred in my absence.

I wonder if any of us will get to see that "Communist" movie. Don't get that one either, it seems the people were protesting against it. Wait a minute, the people we protesting like mad over the oil price hikes, yet there was no media coverage nor a revision of the price increase, yet there has been no sign of a protest over this movie and all the newspapers act like everyone's protesting all over the place, and it gets banned. Oh but the Members of Parliament can go watch it in a special screening. It's so sad that the majority of our intellectually crippled society doesn't not even get this massive insult, the assertion that the rest of us barbarians will get riled up if we see the movie, but the noble educated members of parliament won't. I propose that the new meaning of MP should be Moron of Parliament.

The movie will probably be crap though, it is a local production after all.

A Change Is In The Air
The Sand King stares into the distance. Across the river Bone Clinks, the fool, is prancing around in joy at his 'victory'. Little did he know that his victory was tainted. No one was seriously fighting .. all of us were trying out alternate methods to dish out pain to our DOTA opponents. The poor fool, let him have his joy.

Lucifer (Magnus) walks back towards the fountain, the heads of his latest opponents in his large meaty paw. Poor Furion (takeitez) .. he had angered Lucifer once too many times. After all there is a reason the spell Lucifer casts is called DOOM ...

Omniknight crosses the river. His weapon sheathed and hands indicating parley. We accepted. He nods to Sand King. " You know why I am here , consorting with your vile kind "

Lucifer laughs a horrid evil laugh " Little man, there is not much you can do alone when they arrive .. to think that you of all people will stoop to this. "

Sand King glares at Lucifer, his pincers twitch in irritation. If the Omniknight does not accept this truce then the coming war will be lost before the first arrow leaves the bow.

Lucifer notices the silent reprimand and wisely keeps quiet. Omniknight listens attentively, disgust clearly showing on his face. Furion, now respawned, arrived in time to hear what Sand King had to say.

The Sand Kings then takes a deep breath ...

I feel it in the air,
I sense it in my bones,
A storm is approaching from the hill,
Not one of rain and hailstones,
No, that would not have left me with this grave chill,
Rather I sense it ... a dark and ancient evil come back to haunt us.

We have been complacent , war to us now only play,
This childish competition amongs us has softened our steel,
Gone are the memories of those days far away,
Of blood and dust, and the bitter taste of defeat in our mouth,
Life the fattened calf we prance and play at war,
Our bravery like a ship with a rotten keel,
Unaware of the evil that will come down from beyond.

Yes, the evil of Arvind and his posse ....
The same ancient evil that has decimated our DOTA forces again and again,
When the moon gives birth again , they will come,
Stand fast my brothers, prepare yourselves ,
The time for war and blood and fire has come,
Let us send them back to their dark and evil hell in shame and despair,
Let us prevail !

With this the brotherhood is sealed. Death to our enemies ...

Sandking meets his maker...
The searing arrows burned cleaned through his body. Cauterizing the wound immediately leaving little to bleed or even a chance for infection. All this would have mattered if not for the fact that the arrows took out his heart with them.

As his crumpled body fell at the still raging battlefield, his spirit rose into the heavens...

The desert warrior wakes up in a daze, feeling strangely out of place. As he gathered his senses he found himself in a somehow much duller world, the colours more subdued, grayer. He was resting on a gigantic desk of a very puzzled human wearing strange clothes staring at him as if in disbelief.

"Hey, aren't you Sandking? What are you doing out here? You are supposed to be inside DOTA!!!" The strange human said.

"Are you my maker? My God? I thought you don't exist!" Sandking asked in disbelief.
"Funny, I could say the same..." The man mumbled.
"But, but, what about the ruins, the fossils! The proof that evolution exists! All the evidence that the world is older that 80,000 years old!" SandKing screamed in outrage.

"Oh, that! Those were just doodads." The man nonchalently.

"Doo-what?" Sandking said.
"Doodads, painted backdrops to make the background more interesting." came the reply.
"And oh yeah, the world? Warcraft III is pretty old for game, but its more like 3 years rather than 80,000. We just added all that for the backstory to give the game more depth."

Sandking stared at his maker in awkward silence for moment and reached a decision.
His tail whipped suddenly and he screamed in typical anime fashion, "Burrowstrike!" followed by a "Epicenter!".
"AHHHHH!!!!!!"
****

The moral of this story? Game programmers usually have very little hp and do very badly against agi, str and int heroes. And creeps as well. Maybe even the little sheep you turn into whenever you meet Lion...

That Gnawing Sense of Doubt.
The desolate ruins spread out before him, the fires have long since died down leaving only smoldering embers desperately feeding on whatever fuel charred wood and stone could provide.

"I do not like this. Something feels wrong." Banehallow said spitting onto a dying flame.
“But, we won, didn’t we. And a hard won victory it was.” Bradwarden replied unsure.
“So it would seem. But I had feeling that this conflict was more of a test. To see the effectiveness of their new strategies.” The lychanthrope said, his mind going back every detail of the battle.
“A victory is a victory. We should count our blessings.” The centaur warchief replied stubbornly.

“And so we should. I am just saying next time won’t quite so ‘easy’,” Banehallow spoke into the darkness, looking at the Dragon Knight still flying high in the night sky, staring down proudly at his handywork.

Ever get that gnawing feeling of dissatisfaction? That question buzzing around you “what if”? I mulled over the results of a Dota against Warlock and his Sandking combo, and I wondered, could we have won if they had tried their best? I went over the game again and again, thinking over various outcomes and things that could have happened.

It seemed inevitable, their chances at victory was probably around 85% to 95%. Different strategies would have totally changed the game, ensuring victory for them at practically every turn.

I felt so down and depressed thinking of how the victory seemed tainted. Then I realized a simple truth. As I pondered the possible outcomes, I had assumed that they did everything right, that they took every precaution, that they made no mistake.

Questions of ‘what if’ are always just that. Were they kicking our butt? Sure. Were our chances of winning so slim that you could use it for a weight loss advert? You bet. But, the thing was even if there was only 1% chance of victory, there was still that 1%. Sai could have gotten RSI, Warlock could have pressed a wrong hotkey 10 ten times in a row, there was always that chance.

Perhaps, Warlock was right and they probably would have won if they had really tried. But I say this, there is no sure thing in life.
All our life battles are like that. Sometimes, you just have to push no matter the odds.

P.S. Who says you can’t learn life lessons from DOTA? :)

My View On Religion
I find religion to be a funny thing ...

Tell someone that you hear a voice in your head and you'll be in a mental asylumn faster than you can say "Whoopsie daisy" . Now sugar coat it a bit and say how god inspired you and spoke to you through a burning pillar of fire in the desert and voile .. instant prophet.

Tell someone about a story of someone who can skip over water and jumps from tree to tree and kills entire armies by himself and people will probably think that it was either methaphor, exaggeration or just simple work of fiction but tell them about someone who parted the ocean to escape a persuing force of enemies and you have a "miracle".

Tell someone that carbon dating proves that the world is 4.5 billion years old and religious fanatics will tell you that no the scientist are wrong and that their religion proves that the world is X thousand years old only. When you point out that dinosaur fossils disprove that , do they relent ? NO , they actually claim that god created the world with fossils in it . (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Henry_Gosse) In other words, God create fossilized dinosaur bones. It seems weird that god would do something like that .. if god wanted to mask his presence from us humans what are all the religious texts and prophets for ? This totally mysitifies me .. as do other questions like the entire Adam and his navel issue .. (http://www.freedomsring.org/belly.html)

Weird

Of course I am not religion bashing .. I mean religion is all good and pure right ? Oh wait, I forgot .. there are religions which tells you it's ok to have a 9 year old kid as your wife (seems pretty wrong to me) and there are religion that tells you that your sins can be pardoned if you pay money to certain religious organisations.

What about the religions that are totally dead wrong ? Like that one that claims that the world is is on a giant platter on the back of elephants which are standing on top of a giant tortoise. Or that the sun is a giant chariot with a god who circles the world.

Given to an unbiased person who grew up isolated from concepts of religion , religious text with events of people walking on water, splitting oceans and such won't be too different from stories of Hercules fighting the Hydra or lightning being Thor's hammer or the entire brothers Grimm stories and other legends. How would you differentiate religion from pure fiction ?

We humans are blessed with an overactive imagination, children tend to see the bogeyman in their closets or monsters under our beds. We remember things selectively and in a biased way. Hallucinations , dementia and multiple personalities happens .. do we believe in what individuals with afflictions say ? Ever had a creepy feeling in a dark ? Afraid of something lurking in the shadows ... Ever had a dream that you believed was real ? That is how good your mind is at making up stuff from nothing.

But what about miracles you say ? David Copperfield and David Blaine are good at doing magic tricks which seems to defy explanations . Does this make them prophets ? It they start a religion should we accept their miracles as proof and believe everything they say ? Would you dedicate your heart, soul and life to them .. ignoring attempts by other people who try to explain the phenomenons scientifically and rationally ? If you follow the models of most major religions today , the answer would be a resounding YES ! The devotees would use big words like FAITH and BELIEF and claim that everyone is making up facts to lead you away from the TRUTH and the DEVIL is making them do it .. the poor misguided souls condemnned to hell , when will they learn that the miracles of David Blaine are real .

I am not trying to vilify religion but it really irks me when people do dumb things like kill people because they are of a certain religion or hate people because they are born of a certain race. They are willing to do anything in the name of religion without having any doubts if it is the right thing because to doubt is a sin .. because there is no need for proof , faith conquers all. If science figures out something that is contradictory with religion then science must be wrong. Their argument is that science doesn't know what it is talking about .. Einstein said nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, how fast to the speed of light has he gone ? Has anyone seen an electron ? So science is no different than religion right ? Both relies on faith ...

Not true. Science does require you to believe in certain concepts but the difference is that when a better answer is obtained science takes it into account and changes. When Einstein fixed Newton's theories on gravity no scientists went around burning Einstein's books and asking people to 'keep the faith' .. nope science considered the new alternative and adaped it. There is a difference between faith and blind faith.

I believe that Jesus Christ is real , I think of him as an admirable historical figure. His principle of offering the other cheek, to love thy enemy and how he was resolute in his beliefs is truely admirable. His Sermon on The Mount moved me and the events in Garden of Gethsemane touched something deep within me. But I don't think he was God or God's son , I believe that he is mortal like other great figures in history like Gandhi. But if I do find hard proof that he really is God then I awould be inclined to believe. There are many religions in the world and all claim to be the only true one , so by logic all of them cannot be true. So what moves the religious person to chose one over the others ? Think about it before claiming that religion X is the one true religion and the others are wrong .. cause that is what every religion says.

Right, the point that I am trying to make here is . KEEP AN OPEN MIND ! Do things that are good because it is the right thing, not just because religion asks you to do it. If you feel like doing a good deed, do it because you empathize not cause you are saving up on your 'GOING TO HEAVEN' fund ! Be yourself . Don't hate cause of some ancient feud. Yes the Jews of that time crucified Christ but the Jews of today are their ancestors not the same bunch of guys that killed him. If you are Jew and you believe that you are the chosen race and are special and that other people are just goyims / lesser races .. think again .. some dead people writing some age old document shouldn't make you think lesser of other people . If you are a Jehovah's Witness and refuse to donate blood to save people, how are you different from the Jewish priest who refused to aid the wounded traveller in the parable of the Good Samaritan. If you are a Buddhist and you refuse to eat meat because you don't want to cause harm then I salute you. Not everything in religion is bad. Take the good and throw away the negative. Take your religion with a pinch of salt.

Honour the Devil
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north, I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most High.”
14:12 Isaiah

Lucifer, the Light Bringer, the Morning Star, the First One. Fallen from heaven because of his pride, the gravest of all sins. He who came to be known as Satan, Lord of Lies, the undisputed ruler of hell. It is beyond contestation that the personification of evil is a very large part of most religions practiced today, either as one of the many facets of divinity, or as something to be spurned in order to achieve serenity of the soul.

Lucifer has always been a character that drew a great deal of interest from me. I have said many times over that if I had a choice between meeting god or the devil (should these characters exist as anything beyond the attempts of religion to keep us in line), I would like to meet the devil, always figured it would be a more interesting discussion. Sadly, a response to my requests to sit down over coffee has not been forthcoming. So, disregarding for a moment the veracity of the concept of the devil, let us examine the Christian mythology of Lucifer.

I use the term mythology because is noteworthy that the Old Testament itself does not at any point actually mention the rebellion and fall of Satan. This non-Scriptural belief assembled from interpretations of different passages, would fall under the heading christian mythology that is, Christian traditions that are derived from outside of church teachings and scripture.

Lucifer’s rebellion against God, is well known amongst Christians. Pride, the gravest of the seven deadly sins, eventually led to the expulsion from heaven of certain beings, up to and including the highest orders of angels. Lucifer, who himself succumbed to pride, was the first and mightiest angel to be created. With intelligence, radiance, beauty, and power unmatched among angels in Heaven. His body was of harps and trumpets for he could make music the likes of which can never be comprehended by mortal man. He would sing songs such that the heavens would still themselves to listen. Lucifer was second in majesty only to God Himself.

Unfortunately, Lucifer became ambitious and self-centered, eventually deciding to prove his power by raising his throne to the height of God's throne. Other angels did not approve of Lucifer's plan; they did not want a lower being trying symbolically to become the equal of God. When Lucifer enacted his scheme, he was instantly hurled out of Heaven.

As we all know Lucifer is portrayed as some sort of bogey man to keep children from misbehaving. Yet I find myself enamoured by this story. Lucifer may have been foolish, stupid for rebelling against god. Yet imagine the power of this being, who could stand up towards infinite power, a force greater than himself, the greatest power that ever was and ever will be, and refuse to worship, refuse to idolise. Yes Lucifer was cast down from the heaven, falling as lightning into the hell that is our world. This creature believed in something, something greater than the almighty god that created him, he belived in his own power, himself, his greatness, so strong was his belief in himself that he would try to cast down a god.

Imagine having the inner radiance to do such a thing, you who cannot stand up to simple humans, you who fear lack of wealth, who fear hurt, who fear love, who fear fear. I do not in truth worship the devil, or anything outside myself for that matter, for what are they but things “other people say”. However, if there is a Son of Morning, I honour him and hope that one day I may have pride in myself such that this little world can never subdue me, I mourn his loss as we mourn those that reached for the stars but were struck down for flying too high.

When you can look into the heart of your evil, and acknowledge that it is the very best of what you are, will you understand the joy and sorrow of this story. Pride is a sin….the weak always say.

The Offense of Religion

Faith. I remember reading once that something that is held to be true by virtue of belief, without evidence, can also be disproved without evidence. Such was the strength of this statement that is stayed with me through many years. For those who claim to me that there is a god, and he is the god they worship, I always say that there is not, that their god is not, and I cannot be more right or wrong than they are, because they come to me with nothing, nothing but the ramblings and hallucinations of old Caucasian men from a thousand years ago, whose thoughts and opinions are about as relevant to me as the various strains of bacteria reproducing on the sole of my shoe.

The faithful always do as they must. They cry, lash out in anger, insist that I couldn’t possibly understand. So twisted are their minds that the idea of questioning their faith, or having it questioned makes them angry, upset, vengeful. So much for love and peace.

So "The Da Vinci Code" is playing, and I will be watching it today. I fear that despite all the angst and furore surrounding this cinematic release, it will be a rather lousy movie. Hope springs eternal though, they did manage to land one of the greatest actors of our time, Tom Hanks. There's no denying that the man is a fantastic actor.

Anyone with a hint of brain matter knows that the book is a work of fiction, countless conspiracy theories have been produce on film, published as books. We did not see FBI agents getting upset and protesting over "The X-Files", we didn't see animal rights activists protesting the killing of Mufasa in "The Lion King", we didn't see NASA scientists protesting against "Star Trek".
So what's so special about "The Da Vinci Code"? I will tell you, it's because religion is involved. I am certain of a few things in this world, and one of them is that religious type love to be offended, it makes them feel holier I guess, remember those cartoons.....

The irony of this is that the wise old men in the church (this is just dripping with sarcasm that cannot be seen without the latest 3D Graphics accelerator card), in their wild, zealous need to discredit anything that goes against their holy grain, have lended credence to both the book and film. For now, everyone is starting to wonder if perhaps there is a bit of truth to what was written by Dan Brown. Because of this nonsense.

To add to the stupidity of it all, I just read today that some albino group is upset and launching a protest because the albino monk is portrayed as a villain. When did the world degenerate into a raving bunch of pussies? So let me get this straight, I can't portray a woman as a villain because its sexist, I can't portray a person of any particular race as a villain beause its racist, etc etc etc. Idiots!! All of you who actually get upset about things like this should go look for the deadliest weapon a 2 year old can handle effectively and turn it on yourselves.

Sensitive issues? Why is religion always a sensitive issue? Is god a sensitive guy? Does he cry himself to sleep because I questioned some ridiculous rule about going vegetarian during lent? A rule created by some clown we don't even know who died centuries ago, and we have no way of even verifying if said clown did in fact create the rule.

Sadly, nobody will believe me if I go up to them and say that god spoke to me last night (well he didn't) and said that all of us should enjoy life, eat drink and be merry. They'll believe with great fervour a piece of parchment recording the rantings of a man that may not have existed though.
Maybe someday, a wise king might come across this blog and compile it into some holy scripture to serve as opium for the masses. Till then, I'd rather believe in my own power and not do the whole lamb of god thing. I am my own God, I love to worship Me.

Till then, go watch "The Da Vinci Code" if only to prove that you don't need some old farts in at the Vatican thinking for you.

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." -- Stephen Roberts

Keeping Faith

The sun had set hours ago, allowing the glory of the moon to shine down upon the forest of her beloved homeland. Despite the endless war being waged between her people and the Scourge, tonight offered a brief respite from the horrors and deaths.

She looked at the taverns where her fellow heroes are currently recuperating and wondered at all the changes that have occurred since she first began her fight. Already, the newly constructed fourth tavern, the Dawn Tavern was slowly being populated.

As one of the earliest in the fight, she, Luna Moonfang was afforded some respect by her peers.
After all, the others came in response to her people’s pleas for champions. And so, they came. Some, like Lina Inverse came for the promised reward and bounty, others like Yunero and the troll warlord, came for their pride and a chance to perfect their battle arts.

In all her millenias as a Moonrider, she has never lost faith in her Goddess, never once doubted her guidance, for She has led her into many victories.
Tonight, she sensed that her goddess wished to convey a message to her. So, she silently left the festivities in the tavern and went to the hunters glade just outside the city to bask in the moon’s light.
“Goddess Elune, your servant is here.” She cried to the heavens.
“My daughter, the tides of war come again. You must prepare yourself! Do not fail me.” An inhuman voice rang in her mind.
“I hear and obey, mistress.” Luna said obediently.

Just as suddenly as it came, the presence left again. Luna silently went through her thoughts and contemplated her future actions. Not for the first time, Luna wondered somewhere at the back of her mind why the voice of her Goddess sounded like a male...
***

Everyone, at one point or another has wondered about the existence of a higher being. Without doubt, there can be no faith. They are two sides of the same coin. Just like good and evil. One defines the other.

Long, long ago, when I was still a happy innocent church-goer, it seemed as if I would never doubt the word of the Holy Bible. But now, I began to realise that perhaps, the Bible might not be a complete word of God, after all. That Bible probably shouldn't be taken in its literal sense or as license to kill Jews for example.

So, was I being corrupted by the worldly influences of anime and video games because I have not been waking at 8.30 on Sunday to sing hymms or simply because I have become more jaded as I matured(or as my friend put it, ripen, bloated and fermented)?

If you are a Christian and you have not read the Da Vinci Code, you might find the book mildly disturbing. Or not. Since you could always just dismiss the book as the work of evil jews trying to taint Christianity. Or you might just swallow the book, line and sinker, and decide to wage a war of terror against the vatican for trying to cover up the fact that God is a woman. (Ok, so maybe the book didn't really say that...)

From what I know however, the book hovers closely between fact and faction, using many theories and hearsay as fact. Dan Brown (like a certain Jurrasic Park author) apparently chose to use some the most controversial theories in his book and spin them as fact.

Of course, just because the theories he used might not be true doesn't they aren't. It still comes down to one thing... keeping faith.

Beginning of the End

Thus spoke Magnus, on this the eve of the breaking of the world….

So it has come to pass that chaos and destruction rain down on this small, insignificant speck of a planet in this vast empty cosmos. None will mourn its loss, for this who deem it significant, they themselves trivial, will cease to exist. So I speak, that our world is irreparably broken, hurtling towards oblivion.

Thus in the final days, months, years of the eve of destruction, the mighty will gather to wage a final battle, the like of which has never and shall never be seen again. Thus they will return, inexorably drawn to a pock of a town, in Seremban, Malaysia.

Enemies, friends, nemeses, comrades, they will unite and strike one another down, only to rise again. So it shall continue until the river and seas run red with never-ending flows of blood.

“The Machanator”, “Ben your friends”, “Soulguy” and many others will return to our realm in a month’s time. To claim dominance, to claim that which they no longer have right to. We must be prepared for endless weekends of social life destroying, libido killing DotA matches. We will destroy them, and as they lie defeated and broken at our feet, we will pee on them.

Arc has returned and it is to my dismay that I will not be able to challenge him this weekend, an event that given the passage of time will occur, is inevitable. For what is time but a meaningless human concept created to convince those mortals that death will come for the in the future, and not today, which it always does.

The gathering has begun,

Siriuz the enigmatic, in his realm of grey,

Arc the voyager, in two worlds and none,

Warlock the mad, in his dread psyche,

Magnus the fallen, on His throne of shadow,

Good and evil are but meaningless expressions to us, machinations of minds too miniscule and feeble to encompass the truth, of the weak, desperately trying to give their meaningless lives a sense of purpose. So it shall come to pass, that we will be victorious, defeated.
Thus spoke Magnus…

AI Map For DOTA
Arc has returned .. the ground cracks under his fury .. as he found out that since the last time he has been down , DOTA has evolved and changed. Faced with the prospect of being beaten to a pulp in a game that he is no longer familliar with , Arc called me .. begging me to spare him. Maganimously , I told him of the Dota AI map which allows him to practice so that he will not be totally lost on the great day of DOTA Night.

Here is the link ... learn well and do not be a burden to your team ... little Ark

http://www.dotahomer.com/index.html ( look for the AI maps and while you are at it get the latest map and look at the new heroes )

if that doesnt work try this :

VIP vs VVIP
I was passing by the Uni's common hall when I noticed someone giving a speech .. she called upon a VVIP to come up to stage and give a speech. I was stunned ..

VVIP - Very , Very Important Person .. Isn't the term VIP (Very Important Person) enough for them ?? Do they actually enjoy hearing people calling them VERY VERY important person .. sheezh .. isn't the second 'very' redundant ?

I can imagine some self centered egoistic person going "VIP isn't good enough for me .. I have to differentiate myself from the masses of VIP's .. I know ! I'll be called VVIP from now ! Yeah , that is a great idea ! " Morons !

To their credit , sometimes they don't ask to be called VVIP or VIP .. it just happens. Right ?
Well , shit just happens but you don't smile and nod when someone throws it at your face right ?

So the next time someone calls you VVIP , smile and say that you haven't brought peace to the world or solved the food shortage problem. Let's learn not to stroke our ego , especially if you are an influential person in the community .. learn to be modest !

What next , are they going to come up with an entire hierarchy of abbreviations for people of importance ... A place for people of importance and people of importance in their place.

Maybe we'll have

LIP - Lesser Important Person. Then they can call the LIP on stage to give some lip :P
OINK - Obscure but Important New Nabob (eh , no offense Irene aka Oink .. it's hard to stem the tide of weird-acronym making .. )
CRAP - Cranky Rapidly Ageing Politician
FOGER - Freaky Obese Gentleman who is Especially Round

_________________________________________________________________\
On a different note .. ARC is coming down soon ! All the way from Indonesia . He makes his way back just to be sent back on a small boat after being humiliated in DOTA ... never able to play DOTA again .. hahahaah.

The bad thing about being ARC is that everyone wants to kill you in whatever game you play .. come back ARC and feel the pain !! Ikuyo ..

Pee Pee-ing on Magnus Is Fun !!!
In response to Magnus'es comment on how he wanted to pee-pee at me .. heh ... like I would allow for that to happen >:

I pee-pee'ed all over him ... even when he was using Lucifer .. his greatest , strongest, best character .. haha ..

Of course I had to get some of my other bigger friends to help me pee-pee on him. I had to get Lion The Demon Witch (Ben) and Omniknight (Siriuz) to pin Lucifer to the ground while I gave him the golden shower. I used Lasale since if I had used Sand King or Barathrum (like my ultimate DOTA characters) , Magnus would have ended the day with tears and his pee-pee would have spoilt his nice shoes .. he would have a permanent erectile dysfunction and will probably wet his pants everytime someone says " Let's play DOTA".

It was really fun to hear this coming from Mangnus ...

" Die Warlock ! DIE !!! "

which suddenly changes to this ...

" Get Lasale ! He's escaping ! Kill him first ... "

to

" Don't worry the poison doesn't effect me much , you guys go back to heal .. don't die "

to finally

" Damn ! I am dead ! What about you guys ? ... What do you mean you are dead also ?? They came from where ?? "

He he .. the days of the lone warrior is gone. A true warrior gets strength from his heart and strategies from his head ...

So Magnus DOTA soon ? Meet you in the center lane .

Epilogue : Everything and Nothing

Magnus stood within the infinite expanse of His mind's eye and gazed upon everything and nothing. The pawn had served him well, somewhere in the various layers of existence He could hear the cries of Purist and the thunderous bellows of Lucifer. Now Magnus would have to seek new means by which to entertain Himself.

Then He heard it, and He did not, for hearing is but a crude means by which to describe how a planeswalker perceives reality. Like a tiny pebble, so very far away, cast into the ocean of existence. The ripples become mighty waves, bringing with them His greatest ally, and mortal enemy. Yes, the time had come, the arrival of Arc was at had. They would do bitter battle, worlds would shatter and the stars would rain down tears of blood.

Magnus grinned in delight, how He had longed for this moment....

He would destroy Siriuz, destroy Warlock, destroy Arc, destroy Himself, and He would not for destruction and death were meaningless words to them, they who could not die for they were not alive, they were beyond life itself.

It would begin soon and Magnus would be ready....and He would reign supreme. "Come Balanar, we shall cloak ourselves in darkness, move with haste, strike with deranged fury. You have power, but now I shall walk with you and we shall slay all who oppose us, we shall walk the path of glorious horror the likes of which will drive mortal men to the depths of insanity."

Interlude: Somewhere, nowhere...
The planeswalker Siriuz watched poor Purist’s predicament with slight amusement. Ah. well, the paladin had been a useful pawn, but he had many others. Such is the fate of lesser beings.

Lucifer, powerful as he was, was a pawn, though he probably knew it not. The demon’s strings led to an even darker being, who sometimes called itself Magnus, though that was not its real name either. Like the demon, Magnus was a proud creature as well, and unlike himself would never allow even a pawn like Lucifer to be humiliated. Still, Magnus was a worthy foe, and not to be underestimated.

Azeroth was only one of many projects that he had dabbled in but it was one of the few that matched him against other planeswalkers. At times he had even allied himself with Magnus, alliances and feuds were formed and broken as swiftly as the waves breaking on the rocks.
A new player was coming to the playing-field however. He last wore the name ‘Arc’. Will he be an ally or a foe? Siriuz smiled, probably both.

Siriuz turned his attention towards his latest pawn and whispered into his mind, “Tell me, Abaddon. Do you wish for more power?”

Aftermath : The Second War of the Ancients

Lucifer sat on his throne of bones brooding. Eons had passed since he was banished from Azeroth, banished by his nemesis Purist the Omniknight. Turning the events of that final battle over and over in the nether regions of his mind, the Lord of Darkness constantly sought the explanation as to how he could have been defeated.

His power was absolute, none could survive more than five strikes from his sword of fire and brimstone. Yet he himself was struck down. His own forces turning in upon themselves as the forces of evil are inclined to do when their master departs. The answer was obvious of course, pride. It was pride that lead him, pride that drove him, and ultimately lead to his downfall. Thinking himself invincible, he had neglected to protect himself against the magical machinations of Lion, the repulsive, wart covered witch. They say pride goes before the fall...

Lucifer, on his throne of bones, shifted slightly in anticipation. Being immortal, he had plenty of time to return and destroy that world he had been banish from. Until he did so, he would entertain himself in his newfound hobby, that of torturing Purist.

Purist did not realise that in saving his world from the ravages of Lucifer, he had damned his own soul, colluded with the forces of evil, forsaken his own honour to achieve victory. Now he belonged to Lucifer, forever ablaze in the fires that burn but do not consume.

"Bring him to me!!" roared the Lord of Darkness, the Son of Morning. Mighty infernals dragged forward a man, or perhaps this pitiful quivering creature was once a man. An eternity of torture had robbed him of his pride, his stature. For this was what remained of Purist once the Omniknight and champion of his people. "Please my Lord.." whimpered the pitiful creature, "...no more...no more". His singed buttocks instinctively clenching together, knowing what was in store.

Lucifer gazed lovingly at his subject, he had come to truly enjoy these daily sessions. Gently, as gently as his guttural voice could be in any case the Dark Lord spake "Bend him over..". Purist struggled in vain, cried, begged. Yet the Infernals, without mercy, bent him over and strapped him down.

Lucifer the Doombringer descended from his throne of bones, as he had done countless times. Walked slowly towards Purist as he had done more times than the now maddened Omniknight could remember. He lay his massive taloned left hand onto the left cheek of Purist's behind, digging his claws in, drawing fresh blood from the now insane Omniknight.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Lucifer drew his sword of fire and brimstone, larger than a man, perpetually encased in the flames of hell. With a mighty thrust the sword vanished, deep inside the backside of Purist Thunderwrath once Omniknight, now plaything of Lucifer. Roasting his bowels from within, the sword began to move...in...and out...in...and out.

One day, Lucifer will return, till then he sits on his throne of bones, delighting in the suffering of his new pet. So till the end of time. Till the breaking of the world. Those who in their foolishness venture close to the realm of Lucifer hear the cries of the skewered once champion. Eternally moving....in...out...in.....out.

"The greatest joy in doing evil is to be rewarded by the sight of those who suffer its consequence!"

Endgame: The Second War of the Ancients
The dust from the collapse of the last defense tower slowly settled as the Sentinel Armies marched forth, heading towards the Frozen Throne, ignoring the two lone figures left facing other.

Purist looked into eyes of his greatest enemy, finding no fear, no hesitation, even as his stronghold was razed to the ground around him. The Omniknight recalled the countless times he had to retreat from the fury of this demon.

A mighty figure, Lucifer towered above the him, a huge demon with wielding a great falchion of satanic powers. Lucifer, the leader of the elite Doomguards. Lucifer, the last standing champion of the Scourge.

“At last, you have come to face me one on one. I would have preferred to have to my hands around that traitorous Lesale’s neck, but kicking your puny sanctimonious ass will have to do.” Lucifer rumbled, a slow thunder from hellish depths of his belly. It was said that Lucifer could devour mortals in a single gulp, leaving them to roast slowly in his stomach. Purist knew it for fact.
“I have come to watch your defeat, Lucifer. To see your evil come to an end once and for all.” The Omniknight intoned with all the conviction of his faith.
“YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME! THERE ARE NONE STRONGER THAN ME. HOW MANY TIMES HAS YOUR ARMIES FALLEN TO MY BLADE? HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU TURNED TAILED AND FLED MY WRATH?” Lucifer roared, with strength that did not show the numerous wounds on him.

And it was true, none could withstand might of the Doomguard. Alone that is…
“You are defeated, Lucifer, despite your great strength.” Purist said. “Do you know why? You are relic of ancient warfare. The days of a sole warrior, determining tides of war are long since gone. Nowadays, what matters are tactics and strategies.”
“Cowards and weaklings! I pissed on your tactics and shit on strategies!” Lucifer screamed.
Purist gave bow and said, “I confess, alone, the Forces of Light would not have stood a chance against you, and that is why I am here today.”
“Come, let us end this.” The Omniknight said and raised his sword, the combined essence of Sange and Yasha.
“Now, you shall know the meaning of true FEAR!” With that Lucifer charged with a blood-curdling battle-cry.

Purist stood and watched coming fury with the calm that only the divine warriors of his order could muster. At the last possible moment, Purist raised his holy book as if to summon the divine protection of his guardian angel.
Lucifer roared victoriously, knowing his enemy had made a fatal error, for the Omniknight had summoned the Angel earlier and it was still too soon.
Then pain powerful enough to stop even the Doomguard, rip through his spine, stopping him right in his tracks.
Huge spike tendrils, raised from very earth itself, tore into his body, impaling him in the air.

From the shadows, the demon witch watched the manifestation of his spell in a calm manner, satisfied with the result.

“You cowards…! Damn you, Purist! Where is your accursed honor? Fight me like a man, you ball-less bitch!!” Lucifer roared in frustration, trying to free himself.
“Honor? You speak to a man who employed the services of a witch and joined forces with a snake who performs terrible experiments on the unwitting. Honor is nothing beside victory for the Light.”
With these final words, Purist ended the enraged screams of the demon with one true strike on the demon’s helpless body.
“I trust my payment will be forthcoming?” Lion enquired with a solemn tone.
“The virgins will be delivered the moment the Frozen Throne falls. Not before.”
There will time enough to deal this witch and the snake after this, but for now, he still needed them…

“Come, onwards to Frozen Throne. Shandelzare and Razor might still be trying to rally a defense. Lesalle cannot face them alone.”

Warlock defeated: Predictions for the future

Saturday, 13th May, 2006. On this day the dark riders will converge upon the "Warzone" cybercafe in Seremban, Malaysia. Held in thrall by the soul sapping, blood-lust inducing Defense of the Ancients: Allstars custom map.

So too shall I my descent upon the field of battle take place, for challenge has been made against me by Warlock, and so we shall do battle. So shall your cries echo across cyberspace. So shall you crumple in defeat before me. So shall you beg for mercy that will never be granted. All shall gather around your fallen form and silently honour you for you bravery.

It's natural to contemplate the divine and the terrible, especially when confronted with my awesome power. Robert Oppenheimer looked at the first mushroom cloud and thought of these lines from the Bhagavad-Gita:

I am become Death, destroyer of worlds.

So do I repeat these lines to you....

Look to the north, from there I shall ride. I am coming for you.

I hate Mondays ...
I HATE MONDAYS !!!

I don't know why but I just do.

Now that I got that off my heart back to my usual crud ravings ...

Went back home early today and had a nice afternoon nap ( yup, we have it easy :P .. not like you poor working class people .. ) to prepare myself mentally to teach tuition classes at night. While I was having a nice nap I suddenly dreamt that I was walking in a hot desert with the sun baking my face ....

Got this from "The Dream Dictionary" ( http://www.dreamloverinc.com/home.htm )

Desert

At times a desert in a dream symbolizes the unconscious and represents the dreamer's sense of separation from it. Deserts are generally barren with little vegetation or animal life. The desert in your dreams could be bringing up issues of stagnation and periods of little growth in your life. Also, the desert could represent your loneliness and feelings of isolation. However, if you live close to the desert or love the desert, this may be a positive symbol. For some the desert may be a place where they can commune with nature and feel a sense of peace.

Hmm , interesting .. but let me continue what happened when I woke up ...

... woke up to find that the curtain had moved and the sun had been on my face for god knows how long. Which explains the entire desert dream ...

Moral of the story :

Don't always buy the crap info that people feed you all the time, most of it is just conjecture, relies on mysticism with no explanation (which isn't very accurate) and sometimes just dead wrong ...

Having people suddenly coming up and challanging to fight me to the death ala King Of Fighters ... ouch !! I can allready feel the aches ...

Comment or else!!!

It's been a couple of posts now and I've noticed that nobody comments on most of the posts that Warlock and I put up. Come on guys, at least leave some smary statements, critiques, wisecracks, or maybe touch yourselves a little while you read my posts.

We're only human (well everyone except me) and need to be motivated to keep writing. As it is Warlock is barely able to suppress the power of the Orochi dwelling deep within his loins (some of you may have noticed the changes in his appearance lately), the only thing keeping him sane is posting on this blog. When I post and get no comments i feel alone......so alone. Next comes the need to inflict my pain onto the rest of humanity.

Don't let it come to this!! You can make a difference!!! Your comments save lives!!! For every comment you post Bill Gates will donate half a cent to save the life of [insert name] who's suffering from [insert disease], and rich exiled rulers of third world African nations will send you billions of dollars, and if you don't post comments your girlfriend/boyfriend will leave you, make sure to include your credit card and PIN numbers...

Morality Bites

Well its a not so wonderful Monday morning and I am finally posting again, after trying to make this post several times. Seems my GIF files refuse to work right (for those of you not in the know, GIF stands for Graphics Interchage Format, which I am trying to use to post nice little bits of animated fun for the rest of you).

Originally, the plan was to post the third and final part of my unholy trinity of rants, with the first two having been on Evil and Power respectively. However, since I'm feeling exceptionally lazy, I am going to post quotes from Friedrich Nietzsche on the topic of morality, which as most of you know, is a subject I find powerfully repugnant.

So here it is, hope the GIF works fine this time

MORALITY

Nevertheless. -- however credit and debit balances may stand: at its present state as a specific individual science the awakening of moral observation has become necessary, and mankind can no longer be spared the cruel sight of the moral dissecting table and its knives and forceps... the older philosophy... has, with paltry evasions, always avoided investigation of the origin and history of the moral sensations. With what consequences is now very clearly apparent, since it has been demonstrated in many instances how the errors of the greatest philosophers usually have their point of departure in a false explanation of certain human actions and sensations; ...a false ethics is erected, religion and mythological monsters are then in turn called to buttress it, and the shadow of these dismal spirits in the end falls even across physics and the entire perception of the world.
from Nietzsche's Human, all too Human, s.37, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

Morality makes stupid.-- Custom represents the experiences of men of earlier times as to what they supposed useful and harmful - but the sense for custom (morality) applies, not to these experiences as such, but to the age, the sanctity, the indiscussability of the custom. And so this feeling is a hindrance to the acquisition of new experiences and the correction of customs: that is to say, morality is a hindrance to the development of new and better customs: it makes stupid. from Nietzsche's Daybreak,s. 19, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

Whoever has overthrown an existing law of custom has always first been accounted a bad man: but when, as did happen, the law could not afterwards be reinstated and this fact was accepted, the predicate gradually changed; - history treats almost exclusively of these bad men who subsequently became good men!
from Nietzsche's Daybreak,s. 20, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

What is new, however, is always evil, being that which wants to conquer and overthrow the old boundary markers and the old pieties; and only what is old is good. The good men are in all ages those who dig the old thoughts, digging deep and getting them to bear fruit - the farmers of the spirit. But eventually all land is depleted, and the ploughshare of evil must come again and again. from Nietzsche's The Gay Science, s. 4, Walter Kaufmann transl.

Suspicious.-- To admit a belief merely because it is a custom - but that means to be dishonest, cowardly, lazy! - And so could dishonesty, cowardice and laziness be the preconditions for morality?
from Nietzsche's Daybreak,s. 101, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

... hitherto we have been permitted to seek beauty only in the morally good - a fact which sufficiently accounts for our having found so little of it and having had to seek about for imaginary beauties without backbone! - As surely as the wicked enjoy a hundred kinds of happiness of which the virtuous have no inkling, so too they possess a hundred kinds of beauty; and many of them have not yet been discovered.
from Nietzsche's Daybreak, s. 468, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

It is, indeed, a fact that, in the midst of society and sociability every evil inclination has to place itself under such great restraint, don so many masks, lay itself so often on the procrustean bed of virtue, that one could well speak of a martyrdom of the evil man. In solitude all this falls away. He who is evil is at his most evil in solitude: which is where he is at his best - and thus to the eye of him who sees everywhere only a spectacle also at his most beautiful.
from Nietzsche's Daybreak, s. 499, R.J. Hollingdale transl.

Where the good begins.-- Where the poor power of the eye can no longer see the evil impulse as such because it has become too subtle, man posits the realm of goodness; and the feeling that we have now entered the realm of goodness excites all those impulses which had been threatened and limited by the evil impulses, like the feeling of security, of comfort, of benevolence. Hence, the duller the eye, the more extensive the good. Hence the eternal cheerfulness of the common people and of children. Hence the gloominess and grief - akin to a bad conscience - of the great thinkers.
from Nietzsche's The Gay Science, s. 53, Walter Kaufmann transl.

Team Medical Dragon
Japanese medical treatment must change. However, what type of system we aim at? while the skills of doctors are high, the poor patients cannot get medical treatment in USA. Is such American type really right? Isn't there any other way? -- taken from Team Medical Dragon book 11.

This is a good manga for me. Seeing it has a lot of information about medical treatment in Japan. if got chance can try to read it.

Now very busy playing game. Still got three games plus two games waiting for me but I still playing the Oblivion. So they just have to wait for a while. There is one very interesting issue came out because of the mod of Oblivion. If interested can try to read it here.

For those who are buddist like me. Happy Wesak Day.
